Sick of LS timegating
Go into the labyrinth and follow the zerg. You’ll get the boss kill achievements, candy corn to eat for achievements, ToT bags to open for achievement, and door events for achievement completed in record time.
I think the open-world trick or treating is more fun, but it’s easy to do efficiently if you do the labyrinth.

Not my point. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing, atually – I do know the zerg is the best way to get things done, particularly achievements.
However, what if this month I only had one weekend to play (which could very well be the case if I didn’t meticulously arrange my plans so I could visit a place with computer that runs GW)? A year ago, it didn’t matter long as I got to play just for a day or two. Now that’s really not possible for most one-time events. And that kinda saddens me.
I think it’s an alright idea if done properly. IE You have to do X > Y > Z before you can do W. If done properly, it can help give the living story patch a linear so it feels like you’re progressing.
But with the Halloween patch, it doesn’t make sense. Yeah, you’re trying to get the Mini so you can fight the boss. But the achievements required to do it don’t make sense. I can progress to unlocking the final dungeon by doing the Clock Tower…. Wat?
Living World dailies should only be there to supplement if you can’t do all of the actual Living World’s achievements, or don’t want to. But there should ALWAYS be enough achievements in the current Living World to finish the meta, the dailies should only be there to finish up things if one of the achievements is a little too tough for you to do. Twilight Assault was a particularly terrible Living World as it’s time gated achievements relied ONLY on dailies…. I am afraid since the last couple of Living World events have relied heavily on these daily achievements just to get the meta that this is the start of a trend…
^ THAT right there is what I was getting at, thank you. It should be Anet’s responsibility to make sure that their content is available even for slightly more casual players.
Fully agree with webtoehobbit’s stance.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. You could get the Twilight Assault meta achievement in a single run-through of the new dungeon path, without doing any dailies at all.
If anything, Twilight Assault was exactly what you’re asking for. Plenty of achievements to get the meta by doing the dungeon path; but if you found it too hard, it was possible to get by doing dailies.
