I’d say it’s far mor likely that Episode 4 will hit at the end of the PvP Season. So February 7th.

PvP season and LS aren’t connected with dates. So Id say its more likely that LS ep4 hits next week.

I really hope it does as well. This 2 month waiting period is killing me smalls

The next patch should be the 24th, but it will likely only be the start of the Lunar New Year festival, which would run for 2 weeks up until February 7. Episode 4 will likely not be released until February 21. The only reason they would overlap releases is if they’re already on a tight schedule, as in they want to release the next expansion before summer. Waiting until the 21st means a lesser gap and thus less work (current events), because the next major release is not until April (SAB).

PvP’s team and PvE’s team don’t work in the same time and I really don’t think so, that the dates are connected. I expect a trailer tomorrow, but we will see in ~25h.

I think the Heart of Thorns expansion was announced at PAX South in January. Playable demos were offered at PAX East in March, I believe.

That could be the case. Couldnt see Anet at the PAX south list so Im guessing theyll do announcement at PAX East. Or at least hope they do.

Oh God, I hated that thing — Nintendo-like colorful graphics are appalling to my eyes.

dont forget that the time they gave to themselves was 2-3 months the fact that we got all ep up until now close to 2 months from each other doesnt mean this is gonna be the case for all the rest so id say mid of feb even at the end of feb.

You are right, they aren’t connected, A-Net does tend to try and keep the big patches together though.

With the end of the season a new off season Balance patch wouldn’t be out of the question and it would make sense for them to bundle both together.
Doesn’t mean it will happen, but it could.

Right now, anet has their hands full to create a LS patch in 2-3 months, to the extend they didn’t even have time for the most minute changes of halloween or wintersday. IF I see an SAB update this year, I am gonna assume anet has lost all sense and reason of priorities

If you mean see Super Adventure Box come back as the Festival they stated it would, I don’t know why you would be surprised. If you think they have no time to change Halloween or Wintersday, and those are released as expected, why would Super Adventure Box be any different?

Addendum: if it comes back in an updated format and not as a copy of last year

They’ve already stated that there would be no new Worlds in Super Adventure Box. I would expect the same updates will be featured as were found in Halloween and Wintersday this past year: new rewards, and such.

Whilst they didn’t 100% absolutely rule out ever making more Worlds at some point down the line, it is highly unlikely anything apart from maybe a couple of updated vendor rewards and achievements will be in this year.

Even in the remotest chance a World 3 has been added, SAB was immensely popular which means it would be justified priority – they are giving the community what was overwhelmingly asked for thousands of times over. But, even if they did go down that route and it was fitted into the schedule, they wouldn’t have done so if it meant a loss of resources to something that needed to be in from pve/wvw/pvp.

ie, if a World 3 was added, that’s actually a good sign. It means they are very much on top of things and have time for side projects. That’s excellent news for the game.

As for when ep4 launches, well next week I think might be a tad early, but if it is, I’d expect a game site to release the details tonight or tomorrow

Realistically, episode 4 will now be earlier than expected. They were never going to overlap releases, so February 7th would have been the earliest. Now it’s January 31st.

That’s what the Lunar festival is for, which likely pushed back the episode to February 14th (~3 week delay). Tomorrow should confirm it, since episodes are revealed the week prior.

The LWS3 teams are pretty small from my understanding, if SAB was updated it wouldn’t necessarily mean that ANet was taking devs away from LWS3. I doubt it will be updated, and I’m fine with that. I was too busy last year to finish it all so parts of it will still be new to me and I’m looking forward to it immensely

LA has been attacked many times, but it was only destroyed once. Every other attack was repelled. The same thing could just as easily happen here.

Think the new map if there will be such, is going to be north or west of DR.

I do really hope we get to wreck kitten in DR And the rebuild it like LA, but faster. Cause that wait was just too long.
