I saw mention somewhere (PAX interview?) that October was going to have some big quality of life updates, so they might be chatting those up on the 20th.

Actually if what the patch preview says is true (ALL bosses changed) and the changes aren’t trivial that’s a lot of work.

Yes, it does. Now that they’ve announced the other changes, it is clear it is option b) “bundle with other content”.

Not all, but many. Megadestroyer, Fire Ele and Golem were mentioned “among others”. I think they just got new scaling and skills, but only Elder Dragon’s champions are worth an achievement category. However, in the release only Tequatl was revamped and Shatterer/Claw were unchanged.

So the next release is on 17th of September and the preview on twitch is on 20th. Why? All recent previews were a day before launch. All but one… Queens Speech.
Is it possible that the patch is more then whakittenappears to be?
The 17th is the planned Zombie uprising. Therefore, the dev team will be securing new offices at that time. They figure that they should have everything locked down and be safe from the zombies by the 20th. That’s the reason for the delay.
