I’m pretty sure someone already had this theory/idea/whatever and I’m just a slowpoke as usual, but the forum search works beautifully, not so I thought I’ll just post it.

So, we have this plant which was once under Mordremoth’s influence and it eats bloodstone dust. Inside the vision at the end we can see red “crystals”, which some people (including me) believe is bloodstone.

That means we basically have (or will have) proof of Mordremoth (and his minions?) eating bloodstone and thus going after it.

Any opinions on that? Or maybe a link to a thread where this is already being discussed or w/e.

Also using the info on backpiece, it shows that if given love, not hate, it can grow good. Pale….tree?

I think most people (that are old or interested enough) got the reference, but just because it references something else doesn’t mean it can’t actually mean stuff in-game as well

I hope we don’t start seeing more popular culture references. GW1 got pretty silly toward the end of its dev cycle. I think they just wanted to make a thing that eats bloodstone as a reward for all your stacks of bloodstone, and thought a plant that eats bloodstone is a cool idea. I doubt Modremoth especially likes bloodstone.

Bloodstone is a vessel for sealed-off magic. It is quite reasonable, that a spawn of magic-eating elder dragon would like bloodstone dust – not for the dust itself, but for the magic it contains.
