You can’t really spoil anyone with assumptions, unless it’s based on facts and/or already part of the game, then it’s not a spoiler.
One really can spoil people who haven’t played the content all the way through and are looking for tips for getting unstuck, resolving a bug, or dealing with a tough jump or battle.
Why not err on the side of avoiding accidentally telling people more than they want to know?
I think if they try to think of how the story is continuing and tell what happened until now for that matter then it can spoil people who haven’t played through the story yet.
so the spoiler warning can make sense in some threads.
I don’t see any spoilers in this thread.
“So, who do you think Luke’s mother is since Darth Vader is Luke’s father?”
You don’t see how that would be a spoiler to people who didn’t see ESB?
That user name….
The whole point of this post is because I’ve read too many posts in this forum that has spoilers marked on them but isn’t really a spoiler the title on their posts is just a distraction but really all they say is full of crap assumptions, like 8/10 posts in this forum is spoilers this spoilers that… The last 2 is about on swift wings is bugged….
The usage of spoiler tags on thread titles has been steadily increasing (thankfully) due to the sticky request made by CC Danicia back in the Escape From LA release.
CC Danicia
Community CoordinatorGreetings all!
If you could be so kind, when talking about this release, please use spoiler tags for your titles and within your posts, so as not to spoil the content or the ending for anyone. We would greatly appreciate it!
Also, if you find bugs, please submit them to the Game Bugs forum.
Thank you!
Unfortunately the behavior of using in-post spoiler bars have not been as adopted as adding ‘spoiler’ to thread titles. This could be due to either disinterest in spending the time to add them, ambiguity on what may or may not be a spoiler, or simply being unaware of the method of adding them via reading the posting ‘Hints’ link in the ‘More posting & formatting options…’ posting screen.
Adding ‘spoiler’ to the thread title is, as Illconceived Was Na.9781 pointed out, a good thing to include just in case there are or may be potential spoilers included in the thread discussion.
To some, discussing On Swift Wings being bugged may include what can be considered a potential spoiler for that achievement or section of the story. However, that bug discussion should have been taking place in the Bugs forum as per logic and the additional sticky request made in this sub-forum; Reminder: Game Bugs.
Personally, I wish more would use in-post spoiler tags in addition to including it in the thread title. However, there are also people who include the actual spoiler in the title of the thread! I didn’t even bother entering into the LW or Entanglement sub-forums until after I finished the story simply because many people do not know how to title a thread without including the actual spoiler in its name; sort of like not a real spoiler"thing that happens -SPOILER-". Like, gee, thanks for adding -spoiler- after giving the spoiler in the title.
Honestly, I think that the ‘bug report’ and ‘spoiler’ sticky reminders should be mandatory for each story sub-forum when it is created.

To be honest the whole Season 2 storyline has been been spoiler-ed for me by the thread titles themselves – people don’t seem to realise they are explicitly stating what actually happens in the story and then simply putting Spoilers!! next to it
I haven’t done any of the story parts of S2 yet, nor read any ‘spoiler’ threads, but I know exactly what happens just from the thread titles, which are unavoidable. The same happened in S1. Tacking on the word ‘spoiler’ after you’ve just stated specific events from the story does nothing to erase them from the minds of people who haven’t done it yet. It would be great if people could keep the actual spoilers to within the thread itself and be a bit more careful with the title, as it’s the bit every forum user sees whether they want to or not.

+1. Yes, please.
(And I say this as someone who deliberate avoids the sub-forums until I’ve completed the story, just in case.)
