Still no option to skip dialogue?
no, and they’re not gonna add it anytime soon because as they state, the dialogues and cinematics are their window of mechanical events.
They tried making it skippable, but the sheer amount of bugs and crashes it caused was not worth the effort. Trust me, if you saw the product, you’d think yea, I’ll stick with my dialogues
I guess I’m not going to bother with Living Story then.
wait.. you don’t want to play a story if it has dialogue????
..
you.. eh.. ever played a game before?
I can understand wanting to skip dialogue. Up until the last episode, I had at least some interest in the story, despite my lack of connection to the characters, but now I just can’t be bothered. It may have had something to do with the continued feeling of my character not acting as I would imagine she would, Aurene being shoved down our throats, and other characters we’re forced to tolerate, but once it hit that Aurene escort-like mission, I was done with the story.
So yeah… I understand wanting to play the content, but not giving a rat’s kitten about the story.
Some dialogues are “hurry-up-able” — if you keep pressing [f] to interact, the NPC will move on to their next dialogue. (Largely, they can’t be removed because certain mechanics have to trigger in a particular order and dialogues and cinematics allow the game time to ensure they do so smoothly.)

It’s unskipable just because it adds time to how long the episode was and that is all. Period.
Same goes for a need of completing either hearts on map or fill the progress bar (like in LD map when Logan did send you to do time filler ekhm… errand run around the map)
With skipable dialogs AND no such stupid thing as “fill bar to progress” story from 2-3h long episode would turn out to be 40minutes at best.
What you’ve said is just a pathetic excuise to make short story feel longer.
I’m completely indifferent to all of the characters and what they have to say
What do you play an MMO for then, if not for the story?
I only find this annoying when I’m doing the story for the 3rd or 4th time.

It’s possible to enjoy a game’s mechanics without being invested in the story or world building, or to participate in Living World for the rewards and not be interested in the actual story part.

it was the devs who said that THEY EVEN SHOWED FOOTAGE OF WHAT HAPPENED
it’s literally the problem, you can’t say it’s cover up or anything. THEY LITERALLY SHOWED US WHAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU SKIP DIALOGUE
-NPCs don’t move
-events don’t trigger
-paths get jumbled
-bosses don’t spawn or stay permanently invulnerable
- etc etc
yes, I agree, cutting the dialogue would reduce the playtime, but guess what, some instances are SOLELY dialogue. And why would you skip the dialogue on your first playthrough? don’t you want to play the game you paid for?

Somehow in the past they managed to overcome this (i.e. while fighting Scarlet), but they did not work on x-pack then…

Why whould i ? Because i can read and when i’ll finish story and want to help friend i have to sit through this AGAIN, getting achivements – AGAIN, failing achivement – AGAIN, friend fails achivement – AGAIN, story bugs-out – AGAIN (6 f-ing times did last part of LS got bugged and i’ve had to restart whole manor section). And lastly try and get story completed on multiple toons and i mean a number similar to mine – 16 (because i like to have toon on similar progress).
Now you get this or do you need me to draw it in crayon?
