These are abusive fillers, they aren’t generating for immersion or fun into the game, its the false likely hood of keeping the user around longer.

Did anyone enjoy finding all those teeths/claws/scales?
Did anyone enjoy the kill x aetherblades in y maps?
Did anyone enjoy go to x balloon in y maps?
Did anyone enjoy smash x pinatas?

These are nothing but chore checklists, that don’t work towards real character progression.

I mostly agree. I do think these could be better though.

The pure chance scavenger hunts? These are bullkitten. If you use Dulfy to find them, then they are just a mildly annoying chore. If you don’t use Dulfy, then you have almost no chance of finding them all yourself and they are a huge waste of time. If they want to do scavenger hunts, then they need to include clues. These are things you should be able to figure out, like if you’re really familiar with the layout of the zone you should know where to go before you even head out. Instead in many cases they are just “wander randomly until you see something,” and these are TERRIBLE.

As for the other stuff you listed, I don’t mind those, so long as they are well marked, the practical issue they had was in the implementation, they asked players to find too many of these things, well beyond the point that it was entertaining. I do prefer the “find each location once” objectives more than the “you can spam the same one over and over on different characters and different days” ones, because the former at least gets you to move around.

I thoroughly enjoyed the dragon clues – this is exactly the sort of exploration stuff I really enjoy in the game. I would def like to see more. The main problem I found was the temporary nature – this didn’t need to be a 2 week thing and I could have hunted at my lesiure rather than rush through it (although I didn’t use Dulfy, as time constraints aside it was never necessary to use)

The giant hot air balloons were also unanimously enjoyed by our guild. They added a lot to the scenery and again, it was just fun to explore and get involved with the events.

So, I’m afraid I have to disagree about them not being fun – you have to remember all sorts of different people play the game for their own reasons and (pinatas aside) these were aimed at players like myself. Having said that, this should exist alongside other content. The clues, whilst great for me, only went hand in hand with a tough piece of open raid content and understandeably many felt shut out.

A balance is needed for sure, but removing these “scavenger” quests entirely is not something I’d like to see

I think in the Halloween event last year there was a scavenger hunt and it had clues as to where to go. That was a fun hunt.

You are right. These are very simple tasks. They are not good game content. They are very cheap to design. They pad out the releases. However some people enjoy them and if the designers can add simple content that some people enjoy then they should probably add it to the game. It’s only temporary and if players don’t enjoy it they don’t have to do it. They really, really, do not have to do it.

There is a big let down for any player that starts one of the achievements and then realizes it is just another scavenger hunt. That’s life though?
