I’m happy just to have at least one other member of the group that’s working toward the stated goal of said group. The other “heroes” are off navel gazing while I'm in the caldera of an active volcano with both Balthazar and Primordus. At least Taimi came along with me.
I wonna step on her
Now you know how I feel when it comes to Rytlock “Zipperlips” Brimstone except replace “step on” with “relentlessly pummel”. :V
Indeed. As much as I find Taimi an annoying twerp, at least she has been loyal and present the whole time.
And this episode had stopped her Mary Sue tracks in their, well, tracks.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Well, the thing is, when you’re dealing with dragons that are, at minimum, the size of a football stadium (and in some cases much, much larger), there is no plausible action that a player character can take under their own strength that will have any sort of impact. You aren’t just going to hack away at its shins with your sword until it dies of boredom.
so yeah, when you’re dealing with Godzilla, the hero is the scientist. Taimi builds the gadget that will save the day. The player’s role is to make sure the gadget gets where it needs to be and goes off without interference, or scouts out the data needed to complete the gadget. You’re the field agent, not Superman.
God, I am so tired of entitled gamers that whine when any NPC has a leadership or technical role that make them feel less than omnipotent.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”

Which brings us back to when she first showed up, talking like she knew Braham and knew they’d be friends before they ever met, with her name that sounds like Time-ee or the first part of Timey Wimey etc from Dr. Who and her golem of very interesting design. There was speculation back then that she came from the future.
She seems a lot less sure of things now, in fact. If she is a time traveler, perhaps the timeline has diverged as she introduces ideas that didn’t happen the first time around …
(all just for fun, I have no horse in this race, unlike my deep desire to have E turn out to be Faren).

Agreed on both counts. I think it’s safe to say she’s been shaken by how close she came to dooming everyone. Plus, her ‘secret’ lab is no longer a secret. We’ll see what that does to slow her down.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
it becomes all the more apparent that every plot point is made for [Taimi] to somehow fix. The fact that she comes out with cheesy lines as if she always knew the outcome makes it worse.
Finally someone spelling it out! This is just one more proof of the poor writing. How much more exciting would it be to figure some of it out by yourself. And yes, “cheesy lines” unfortunately is a label that can be applied to pretty much all NPC companions’ dialogues this LW season (except for Canach).
well yeah i hope she slows down but im tired of going around the map on a checklist taimi gave me and when i find a wall conviniently theres taimi calling her favourite bookah. This is one of the reasons i enjoyed head of the snake.
