With the introduction of Taimi in the recent patch, many people actually wonder why she popped out all of a sudden. She’s actually been around since the Toxic Nightmare update. (remember the npc in the camp talking of an Asuran girl wandering with her golem?)

First of all, I want to compliment with A-net with the writing of Taimi. Her lines aren’t ridicolous. She’s smart and she shows it in every sentence (without being trivial or ordinary). I normally am not a fan of female NPCs but seeing finally (Marjory apart) a female character straying aside from the “beautiful woman, half intelligence” stereotype was great, expecially with how you added to the fact that she’s self made and fighting against that illness.

Now, Taimi was foreshadowed in the Toxic Nightmare update and only showed up (althought with NO background to support her at all) in the Origins of Nightmare update.
The Taimi character has been in the makings for months. While some things in the Living World are subject to change, I think that you had her planned out alot of months ago.

Why so late, ANET? A character so RICH, introduced so late. It’s truly a shame, as you had to coalesce her story quite quickly (in this and, hopefully, the next patch), while it could be dilationed in a longer span so that we get to know her gradually, not like most of the community did: “Who the hell is this Asuran showing up on the Marionette fight?”

P.S: please, feel free to add anything to this thread. Every comment is a precious addition.

She wasn’t hinted at in the Tower of Nightmares. That was a different Asura. Kari I believe. She ended up captured in the tower and after it was destroyed she was at the camp.

Well that just makes things worse. I really don’t think they have made up her character in just one patch, during the Tower of Nightmares. Introducing her all of a sudden so late just adds to my question. (thank you for your response)

They probably only came up with the character recently.

I doubt the whole living story was drafted from the beginning. It’s more like one of those long running TV shows (or comic strips) where they keep swapping writers and continuity is mostly constructed in the imagination of the audience.

Who knows what super-villains The Joker, oops, I mean Scarlet will ally with next week.
