Well I should have known that it was her voice, since I’ve seen much of her work. But I never stopped to think about the voice behind one of Tyrias most “ICONIC” villians, especially one so awkwardly written. After having this knowledge I REALLY wish they could have written her much better. Hopefully she will lend her voice to GW2 again someday (WITHOUT SCARLET)

Pretty sure the Asura announcer next to the Queen’s Gauntlet platforms is also voiced by her. But yeah, she’s one of the greatest voice actors around imo. Tara’s acting is most likely the reason Scarlet actually managed to get fans among the playerbase.

I’d love to see her return for another major role, though.

Tara Strong is a really, really talented voice actress. It’s sad that she voiced Scarlet which wasn’t very well written.

I really hope Tara Strong will voice more main characters in Guild Wars 2, but this time they should be much more well written.

I feel sorry for her to be given such a shallow 1 dimensional ridiculous flat character to work for. As juvenile and flat as the personal story was, this Villain Sue character of a Scarlet set a lower yet bar. Rumors say she was to be alive into season 2 but was pulled away not to alienate the playerbase from Guild Wars 2.

I know the voice actress was/is bound by contract to do the PR’ing, I’m just sorry for her to have gotten Scarlet.

It always blew my mind when she opens her mouth and Bubbles came out.

I believe Tara Strong did a great job on voicing Scarlet Briar, and definitely one of the reasons of my liking for the character.

I also wouldn’t have minded seeing more of Scarlet in season two.

When she said ‘stupid hostages’ in her pavillon instance, when you saved Faren, it totally cracked me up. Whatever the writing, her voice really made Scarlet enjoyable from time to time.

It’s weird to me because when I first heard her talking I said she reminded me of Harley Quinn.

I wrote it off as just a coincidence or some kind of stereotype for female psycho villains, so it’s cool to find out there’s more to it than that.

Well to my knowledge Tara hasn’t been in many video games, (besides spin-offs of tv-shows maybe) so it was a surprise to me. Sadly I didn’t get the chance to really hear her acting since I paid little attention to the story. You know if they made her character a little more like the joker I probably would have enjoyed it more, maybe thats what they were going for and just failed? shrugs ah well, lets hope the villian in season 2 is good…………

I don’t like tara strong that much. Truth be told she’s become too well known that it hurts the possibility of alot of other female voice actors from being able to spread their wings. You could try to argue otherwise but tara strong is being cast too much and she seldomly does voices i can’t immediatly pick out it’s her because she only has like 3-4 voices she repeats with minor poor accents.

Scarlet as a character was joker/harley hybrid and it was obvious why they rolled with tara strong for it(she’s now the voice for harley so they thought it’d be easy for her to roll with the “crazy”).

I wish for more strong female voices or crazy voices that aren’t just repeats from other stuff. the other female voices i liked alot actually but scarlet with that ridiculous accent(seriously? why was it needed?).

I like gw2 but scarlet alone made me stop playing for the last 6 months and now she’s gone i can play again without having to worry bout hearing a voice i personally dislike(don’t bother trying to tell me she’s good or what because her talent as a voice actor is subjective and heavily opinionated so there’d be no point in it.)

Best line in there to me was how she delivered, “AHHHH CANNONBALLS! My one weakness!”

Tara Strong’s portrayal of Scarlet actually made me like the character. For a character that’s not that well written (though she got more interesting in the end) Tara Strong still made the character appeal to me.

I really hope she’ll do more voiceover work for GW2 in the future.

edit: and there’s a reason I refer to insane Scarlet as “crazy-bubbles Scarlet” :P

My feelings on Scarlet notwithstanding, I agree Tara is an amazing voice actress. She also did the Announcer in the Crown Pavilion, and her “Five, Four, Three, Two, One!” line is so incredibly done.

She’s been in a few. The one I know most is FFX as “Rikku”, and she was really fun in the role. Apparently she’s also in Secret World . . . The Old Republic . . . some Ratchet and Clank . . .

As to Tara Strong’s involvement in video games, she’s been running strong (don’t shoot me) since 2000. Rather than doing a “notable” list, go to her Wikipedia page and feel your jaw drop.

Though I must wonder if she’s in/directly responsible for The Dreamer, since the ponies it shoots do have a distinct ANet logo cutie mark and a muscle structure and mane base reminiscent of Bulk Biceps

I was personally surprised when i saw that Tara voiced scarlet and would LOVE to see her again in a better role, and this may be off topic but i would also love to see Nolan North return as well, he did a great job as the human male PC and I forget who he was in gw1 but he was there too, i would love to see them both come back again.
