I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or overlooking something really obvious, but my situation is the following: I cannot create the elixir used to enter the Bitter Cold on alts that have not done the story.

I can collect the eggshells, but Suet is not dropping for me. I cannot buy the firestone from the grawl heart vendor, either. Using the hot spring at Blister Cauldron tells me I don’t have the formula; talking to the Svanir Seer only opens the merchant option.

Do I really have to replay the story on every toon ( up to elixir creation ) if I want to do map completion ( without any workarounds like using the thermal tubes and then running like hell hoping I can make it before either the debuff or the mobs kill me )? I know the story isn’t very long, but I still wonder if this was really intended, seeing that neither Ember Bay nor Bloodstone Fen require the story for completion.

Same issue. The tracker on the top right of the screen still directs you to the locations to get the materials, but things like the firestone and the suet are just not obtainable.
