The Epic Trailers

I, however, say…
Why put all this effort into the trailers – not just the living world release trailers, but even that anniversary Heroes’ Edition trailer – which are indeed epic… then have less than epic cinematics in-game…
Been starting to feel like ArenaNet’s caring more for marketing than the quality of the game. Well, I guess that’s no surprise from a business perspective. sigh
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

You have a good point there…. hopefully Anet will imrpove what they do with the Living World in the future.
Also, the trailers really are awesome!

They probably have set budgets for advertising and for development. They may not be allowed to use the money from advertising for development, so it may just be wasted if they didn’t.

Just wanted to say that the trailers for the living world releases are AWESOME!!!! I really hope you keep doing them!
Yay, well done trailers. But they create a hype and the actual Living Random Story creates soooo much disappointment.

It will cost them eventually. Playerbase won’t stick to LS for too long and will switch to other MMOs, Elder Scrolls Online coming up soon etc. I know a few GW1 fans who already quite because they feel cheated as GW2 didn’t deliver any of the things they were looking forward to.
