The Journel change "TGoM changes"
Which I guess would be the reason there’s no more actual dialogue cutscenes? This is not about you… It really doesn’t feel personal when you have to read everything your character says (which are very brief responses in most cases), while all the others actually have voice acting. I really don’t understand why they couldn’t include voice acting for the player character, but everyone else gets it.

Everyone else has 1 voice actor, the player character has 10 (one for every race/gender combination).
There are apparently technical difficulties too, something to do with branching dialogue but I only skimmed the explanation and didn’t entirely understand it.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Ya the story isn’t about our character anymore but more about everyone involved in the events.
As of now the story is a bit messy due to being the Introduction chapter of Arc 4 with the entire reunion events and attempt to explain how all the members of the Investigation Team is recovering from Battle for Lion Arch being shoved into the First chapter in Living World Season 2.
I personal think they could have solved this messy issue if they spread the personal issues of each character a bit out more through the story rather than trying to cram it all together in Chapter 1 because it feels like they’re trying to get all the character’s personal issues out of the way fast so the story can focus more on the action, adventure, and Lores later into Chapter 2 or higher.
Of course as the story progress we will see less drama and more action as we get closer to Mordremoth.
As for the members Anet did well making each member feel useful in Arc 4 this time because each member actually help our character with things they are not capable of performing rather than being uselss like the NPC allies we had during Arc 1, Arc 2, and Arc 3 (except our Order Mentors since they each had their own unique way of helping Tybolt will always be the best through with his bucket of “Apples”) Though a lot of Necros would love to learn how to make a bone bridge
