I’ve been brainstorming over the past several weeks about several ideas that Arenanet could implement to really improve the quality of life for GW2. Realism, immersion, and overall fun could be boosted far & above current levels by adding one simple item to the game.
That item my friends, is bacon. Think about it, a large number of today’s AAA titles have bacon in some way, shape, or form. Just look at the success of the Cooking Mama franchise for example. I propose then, that the brilliant minds at Anet add our favorite delicacy.
How would this be handled you ask? Killing boars in the game would result in the rare drop of a new item called [Pork Loin]. My concept could even fit into the living story reward system by providing a home instance butcher to harvest a few [Pork Loins] from once per day. These could then be refined using ascended cooking & a few ingredients to create [Bacon]. Once you have the base [Bacon] item, you could consume it for a 1 hour buff of -50% chill duration (due to all the fat) & +100 power (Because hey, we all feel powerful after dining on bacon.)
If you do not eat it however, it could further be used to create a multitude of other porky pallet pleasers. [Chocolate Bacon], [Hickory Smoked Bacon], [Bacon Salt], the possibilities are endless. Furthermore, it could be used in a stack to create the [Gift of Bacon] which would be used in the new legendary weapon, [Caladhog]; it’s precursor being [Rack of Ribs].
In closing, I feel as though enough has been said, & that I should delegate the rest of this discussion to the community at large. Please, feel free to add any comments or criticisms.
