What a kittenty designed area. You cant move anywhere without getting attacked. And before you kill all the mobs you aggroend (due it the riducules amount of vetaran mobs) the old onces have respawned. This is part of the reason i stopped playing this game. Its so poorly designed when it comes to these things. How the hell am i ment to find a path, when im constantly are getting attacked. Its a special level of stupidity and incompetency that went into that area. Im impressed the game is still alive with suck kittenty design.
That area is prof that the developers arent playing their own game.

Areas like this I don’t even bother to fight in. I just run past everything (with a few timely dodges). Standing and fighting only serves as an irritation.

Take the thermal tube just to the south of the entrance to the bitter cold. It’s on the mountain and used to access the area above with the mastery point. From there you can casually glide to wherever you want to go.

But that can be hard to do with the freeze and all the slow… The next quest (frozen out) is just kittened . Getting attacked by groups of veterans, that almost ignores your rolls. I roll and they just jump me. Its like they are trying to screw over the players and making sure they die. The game isnt really enjoyable, its a pain. You arent ment to enjoy the story, and not have the feeling of, you can’t wait till its over, which is how i have it

Frozen Out is annoying, to be sure. There are about a dozen waves of foes before you get to the final battle, mostly repeating waves of the same type of foe; it something to be endured.

The last fight, however, can be cheezed if you’re having trouble: trigger Braham (which apparently is quite easy to do these days ) and then go back to the corridor. About half the time, he’ll manage to get rid of everything but 2-3 foes within 4 minutes, making it manageable to get rid of the rest in about the same time. That’s even if you aren’t good at the mechanics.

The NPCs will actually kill everything for you, so you can just run away and wait it out if you really wanted to. This is the problem with having actual helper NPCs compared to NPCs being mostly cosmetic (balanced for the group vs balanced for you). Your experience can vary greatly because of them, because sometimes they’ll actually tank everything for you.

As for the general difficulty, GW2 was always intended to be balanced for the action gamers, whereas most MMOs are balanced for the casual players. If you play an action game like Witcher 3 for example on a normal difficulty, you should notice a similar solo experience to GW2. The problem however is that GW2 lacks vertical progression to compensate, which is probably why ArenaNet allows groups to trivialize the content, except most people would likely quit instead of going out of their way to group. Some professions are also far easier than others; a necromancer is probably the easiest due to its natural defense, effectively having 5x the health and pets.
