as a biologist, i kinda felt bad killing the prophet after he said ‘i am the last of my kind’ destroying en entire species (genocide) isn’t really in my nature, could there have been a way to convince the prophet to help us? in the future i think it’d be awesome if you had choices in the living story that altered your home instance/changed what living story content you got

e.g. if we take the flame and frost format, 3 parts to a story, part 1 = everyone has the same but you can choose between different options (doing a mission in different ways, kinda like personal story) the outcome of which could affect part 2, where you have another choice to make, all of which join together to how the finale plays out

every so often you could opt to ‘save’ someone or something important, like the prophet, and they would appear in your home instance? perhaps they can then help you during the personal story, whenever it comes back (unlocking special missions), that way your choices would influence how your story plays out (that idea got me excited prior to gw2 release)

Given the evidence in Scarlet’s abandoned lab in the Tower, the Hybrid likely wasn’t the first or last of its kind, regardless of what he thought.

Even so, in that moment we have to imagine the tension in the room. We are in Scarlet’s element and in a second we have to decide if this newborn monster (we really do think of it as a monster, I imagine) is a potential ally. I think it would have been really neat to have offered us a choice, even if the outcome was predetermined. That is, regardless of what we chose, it would have been killed — by our hand or Scarlet (or someone). But at least it would have been a choice that we had to make as characters in the world and maybe it determines some future dialogue.

it kinda makes me mad, scarlet is responsible for so much mayhem and destruction (and plot holes and lore contradictions) but at the end of the day, we’re the only onesw ho have destroyed an entirely new species, who are the bad guys really?

I see nothing wrong with that. If it was up to me I’d burn down the pale tree.

In a world with wild magic and exotic science there is no limit to the creation, summoning, manufacture, or corruption of aberrant creatures. Leaving them all alive due to their unique nature would be foolhardy and very dangerous.

I didn’t think a xenophobic krait “god” would help us while killing him.

we could at least have given him a choice…
