The world? Really, the world?
It’s the only “world” that most Tyrians on the main continent are aware of or even care about anymore.
I’m not a super lore person as this question will prove, but do we know for certain what the state of the rest of the world is after the rise of Orr, or even since GW1 for that matter? Zhaitan destroyed a good chunk of Tyria, what if he wiped out a lot (or all?) of Elona and Cantha as well?

To be fair, hyperbole makes for good storytelling as long as you don’t overdo it. I mean, in Harry Potter, it never made a whole lot of sense that the entire frickin wizarding world needed to rely on one special boy to save the world and Voldemort was the only major villain at that point in their history, despite tons of people having the possibility of getting into the dark arts, but it made for a good story.
Mordremoth isn’t even a big enough threat to stir the tengu into action, so why should the rest of the world care?
It’s the end of the world (as we know it).
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

Heh, to be honest, we don’t know that. The Tengu could be fighting a devastating battle for their homeland beyond the wall, but we don’t know that.
TBH, it’s unlikely anyway, given Mordremoth feeds on exposed magic. As far as we know the Asura haven’t been in Tengu homeland for a long time, so the waypoint network probably hasn’t been established yet. (the WPs is what hinted Mord where to attack in part 1)
It’s actually just like Rouven describes. It threatens the entire world or way of life of the existing 5 playable races. Asuras could lose the WP network. That would affect all races. Charr would lose supply lines to fight the ghosts. Hoelbrak would get attacked from two fronts, as would DR, and the Grove would be completely engulfed.
It’s important to isolate player knowledge from character knowledge when interpreting the story.

By now they effed the tengu story thread up so much I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole Dominion was a themepark for Destroyers burning down Mordrem vines holdin’ and chokin’ the rotting carcasses of the zombified risen tengu population left unattended after Zhaitan’s demise.
Which would actually fit ANet’s world-destro… sorry, world-invigorating schemes.
A fantasy of sci-fi cyborg implants grafted into the desiccated flesh of Guild Wars’ corpse.
To be honest, there was a map of whole Tyria (as a planet) datamined a year or so ago. According to that, our exploration in Dry Top cannot be even 0.0001% of whole planet.
So I think that between 2045/2046 we’ll run out of Dragons&Leylines and eventually take care of some other threat.

New threat: Asurans have to inform the world about global climate change on Tyria. We must band together to go green! :P
To answer the question about Cantha and Elona’s continued existance: unless they were lying, I’m pretty sure Order of Whispers operatives have stated they have ways to move past the EDs’ blockages and go into other continents. They’re the only people in Tyria able to do so at the time, given their knowledge of secret paths. So yes, Cantha and Elona still exist. They even stated Palawa is still there, reigning over Elona.

The Tengu would rather shoot innocent people than doing something useful.
It’s like the Baseball “World” Series, or the “World” Wrestling Federation.
It’s kinda like how Miss Universe isn’t really all that… inclusive…
It’s the end of the world (as we know it).
And I feel fine.
Then, back to the OP, the world (as we know it) has to come together. Cantha and Elona are cut off from our world, there’s no news of any trouble there only ofc there was the xenophobic emperor in Cantha and there’s Palawa Joko in Elona, but the dragons are threatening Tyria the continent and seeing as that’s all we know about, this world has to come together.
