The world against the Sylvari - Suggestion!
The point of the game is to make players work TOGETHER – that’s why there are no factions (WoW/Aion style). So yeah, not going to happen. The Sylvari are NOT dragon minions – they’re immune to dragon corruption.
It is quite possible that they were suppose to be Dragon Minions but managed to break free before their Dragon woke up. That would explain the fact that the voice in Scarlets head seems to be something that existed all along rather than got into her when she used the machine.
As for them, as a whole race, being minions of a Dragon it seems quite unlikely, since that would make them impossible to have as a playable race.

This theory has been floating around the forums for quite a while now, basically since information about the Jungle Dragon “Mordremoth” first cam into the limelight.
Imo, it’s very much possible, but there’s going to have to be a whole lot of explaining, and exceptions for the Sylvari.
Any event that singles out any particular race would go over very poorly, especially if it involved anything like what you’re suggesting with being captured and such. Making players feel singled out and persecuted compared to other players is never a good thing.
Especially since there’s 0 indication that anything like that will ever happen, so it would be coming right out of nowhere. With something like a faction in another game you know what you’re getting into by picking a side. You’re on that side of the fight and you might end up in an unpleasant situation by choosing that side. But here, we’re talking about singling out any player just because they picked a certain race. And there was no indication that said race was going to be singled out in the future, no hostility with other races or anything. You wanted to play a plant person and now we hate you.
has really no one played GW1, not even one?
it’s not from the elder dragon, it’s from a seed ventari planted.
no elder dragon, no corruption, only one influence and that is the tablet ventari laid down to teach the sylvari wisdom.

And yet we KNOW of Sylvari that was NOT born of the Pale Tree, and thus were NOT effected by Ventari’s teachings (and it was actually Ronan, not Ventari, that planted the seed).

Actually lordkrall the Sylvari WERE effected by Ventari’s teachings – or did you miss the fact that our Sylvari often going around saying things like “Where life goes, so too should you” (or whatever the quote is).
Malyck is shown to be quite a bit different to our Sylvari. He is not quite as peaceful as a dreamer – he’s quite open to the idea of revenge and is sort of more like a mix of both Nightmare and Dream. That implies that Ventari’s tablet has influenced the way our Sylvari grow and the ideals they have – I mean of course it has, any ideal that is held THAT close to you from birth is going to have a massive impact, whether you embrace it like the Dreamers or reject it completely like the Nightmare Court.

I have never claimed they weren’t.
I have simply stated that not all Sylvari were, seeing as not all Sylvari are born of the Pale tree.
The thing about it not being Ventari was simply about who planted the seed. It was not Ventari, it was Ronan.
And the fact that there are Sylvari that is born outside of the Pale Tree does make it fully possible that they originally were something else.
There seems to be more than just the one seed that Ronan took in the cave after all.

Sorry my mistake I misread your post/your post wasn’t completely clear. All you said is that we know of Sylvari who were not effected by Ventari’s teachings – and for someone I interpreted this as you saying that this meant that our Sylvari hadn’t been effected because we’d met another Sylvari who acted the same.
“clinging to a single seed”
- He only took one.
Yes, he took one, and that would suggest that there were more, and they have to come from somewhere. Mordremoth could be a possible source.

Sorry, once again me misreading >.>
I read it as you saying there was more than one seed that Ronan took – when you meant there was more than just the one seed that Ronan took. It’s obviously too early in the morning for me to be thinking -_-.
I wish people would stop posting this idea already.
