So i thought of a crazy theory. Dragons Consume magic and we already know there is possibly an egg from Glint. What if Mawdrey is being fed bloodstone to consume magic so it can later be passed on to the egg from glint to help empower and mature it?

That sounds plausible.

As Mawdrew is not an item everyone has and the fact that it is an optional item I do not really see how that would work, aside from using it to get maybe another Item

However I do not believe it will have any impact on the story itself.

The Priory chef in the Hidden Arcana instance comments about how there are no culinary applications for bloodstone dust, and that nothing good can come from feeding it to living beings.

Mawdrey II is a living thing, a plant, that consumes bloodstone dust.

So…

Could we discover later that consuming bloodstone dust will somehow block the metal corruption effect of Mordy? Then we all become dust junkies.

Either that, or most of the population gets devouered by their back-pieces.
(yeah it’s a gizmo, but that’s not as funny)

I’m more sure that Glint and Mordremoth were lovers. Now Mordremoth is kittened as it woke up to find Glint gone. So The Master of Peace is trying to bring Mordremoth and Glint’s love child to Mordremoth in hopes it’ll calm Modremoth down.
