well its not just for me i would like to know of this happened to many people or not. And inform them to make a Ticked. but thanks for your fast response anyway. ^^( i have already made a support ticket request ) ^^
You could buy the other ones last year. Even if they’re not in the gem store now.
I personally thought it was nice to have some minis that wouldn’t be around again, but i’m not sure why I still expect that from anet.

There have been A LOT of minis that haven’t come around again… Like the spring minis, the original batch of Halloween ones, SAB ones, Southsun box ones etc etc.
They said last year that you would only be able to craft 2 of the minis last year (I believe a bug occurred so they sent a second mail out that actually made it possible to get 3), and that you’d have to wait until next year for the rest.
And who knows! Maybe those original minis aren’t gonna be available this year outside of the meta so unless you stocked up on glue last year you’ll only be able to get that one mini.

I’m a bit disappointed about the Toy Box reward too.
Though not for the same reason. I already got the only 3 mini’s I had any interest in last year. So now I can either get a second of one I already have, or get one I don’t care about and throw it in the bank never to be seen again anyway. The only thing I can hope is that you can use the mini in a recipe for an infinite tonic at least. Though the tonics were created with the parts and not the finished mini last year.
Maybe the second Wintersday update will have something more interesting, though.
I doubt they’ll refund your purchase, since you’ve had them to enjoy for a whole year now. And I don’t think they ever said they’d never be available again.

You know what would be awesome? If Tixxs you box was something in your home instance you could out minis into and they’d walk (or just stand) around the toy box so you can show off several at once to friends…. Kinda like HoM in GW1.

I’m actually pleasantly surprised they’re making last year’s minis available this year, because I didn’t manage to get the full set last time. I wish they’d do this with all the other stuff I’ve missed out on.

Yea I never remember seeing them say they were unique to last year only. My understanding was you could only have enough cogs to craft some of the minis, and if you wanted the rest you either had to buy them or wait for next year.
Not like you can show all of the minis at the same time, and they are only giving one out via the meta event so I don’t see what the big deal is. They are hardly the rarest mini’s ever, no reason to get upset.
They should also add a choice of infinite toy tonics to it.
Whether something is either wrong or right, someone will always complain about it.

You can see in the original thread the toys were called “limited edition”. What annoys me is not that I bought them in the gem store but that I have been wasting a huge amount of bank space for the crafting supplies when they seem to have changed the way the toys are obtained.
I’d sure like some new stuff woven in with the old, though you don’t get an ongoing tradition if you don’t repeat core things.
But OP, I can’t see that you’ve been ripped off. You’ve had use of the minis for a whole year thanks to gem-buying them. This is hardly like someone who spent cash on something and the next day ArenaNet said “oh hey, you can get that for killing twenty harpies starting in two days.”
Would you complain that you bought a top of the line video card and look, it’s nearly free a year later and something better is available? That’s just how it works.
I just hope I don’t get another Plush Griffon. I mean, I spent my frame on it instead of trying to use the frame to make an infinite tonic (I picked the Princess Doll for that).
They could give us a frame instead of the complete mini, so I could use it for the tonic this year.
I hope that we will still be able to get the frames by completing the instance.

I think the issue is that he was made to believe they wouldn’t ever return, and now they do. Maybe he only bought them because he thought it was his only chance. I can see how that can upset him a bit.
If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.
I do understand that, ThiBash. It’s justifiable to be upset that you were pressured into buying something that you might have held off on. But a refund a year later after you’ve had the enjoyment of using that thing all along, because you’d rather spend the money now instead of having spent it then? (Or, at least, you’d rather get one for free now and miss out on the others — note, s/he got -all- the minis, and it sounds like only one will be rewarded this time).
I have no issue with feeling ire about the buy pressure. I do see great problems with asking for a refund now. Maybe if the OP is willing to have all their Wintersday minis deleted if the gems are returned and pick just one to reacquire this year? And if ANet can determine that the minis only sat in the bank all year, never getting used?

For the record I have all 5 of the Toy Minis due to buying the rest on the Gem Store. I do not mind that they are coming back for those that missed out on them last year/the new players.

This is the only thing that bugs me. I was half-expecting the old Halloween weapons to get put into the Black Lion Weapon Merchants when the new Halloween weapons got bumped up to 5 BLTickets, but this didn’t happen. This makes the old Halloween skins the only special event weapons not to receive this treatment. Quite bizarre.
