To the dev. that devolped the "Canach" fight
Wow that’s beyond rude….
I understand that you are mad (most players are), but that’s simply ridiculous.
Seriously, why would anybody post such a thing?

It seems some people still can’t grasp the concept of constructive criticism. Seriously, if you have nothing constructive to say, stay off the forums. I’m not sure why it’s hard to say you disliked the content, providing some reasons and some suggestions to improve the content.
Directly threatening/harassing an employee of Arenanet, get ready to see this person in the “banned” section up in account forums.

I feel kind of sorry for him because i feel like he may get in trouble and he is just really frustrated. If i were you op, I’d do a quick edit and put a more relaxed version of your expressing your concerns over the fight.
On a side note i liked the fight a lot.
The fights were stupid and boring as heck, sure, but it doesn’t matter if they were worse (could they?), it would never warrant this kind of behavior.
Grow up and tell your parents to educate you better.

If I wish for a piano to fall on your head, would you start wearing a helmet?

I’m not sure where you were going with this?
- Be respectful. Be pleasant to forum members, staff members, and moderators.
- Do not use profanity, insults, or personal attacks. If you have a problem with another member, contact a moderator.
- Do not engage in staff call-outs. Using the words “ArenaNet” or any staff member’s name will not expedite the answer to your query.
- Do not engage in personal attacks against forum moderators or ArenaNet staff. You may contact staff directly at forums@arena.net if you wish to discuss a staff member’s decision. Please note that abuse of staff members or moderators in forum posts or private messages may result in forum account termination.

I was referring to all those terms he broke with just one single post.

^The fact that you call ‘I wish’ et cetera, et cetera ‘directly threatening/harassing’. Against forum rules or otherwise, getting a threat from that is such a stretch it seems like it would hurt.
Enjoy your ban.

A threat is a threat. You do it in real life you can end up in jail, no different here except they are more lenient and just ban you ^^ It is rude and uncalled for, toxicity is a terrible thing. Internet isn’t a right to act like a complete fool and disregard basic human morals and ideals. If you said that statement to the president of the US you could end up in prison. Just saying, rules are da rules. There is no grey area here. I have a greater respect for human life and emotion, even before serving in a combat zone.
I could be wrong, but in the strict English sense, the second part was not a wish but a hope, which is just as disgusting. Either way it is obviously not what we want in our community, or in our world for that matter.

Threats express intent, not hope and wishes. ‘I wish a piano would fall on you’ is not a threat, ’I’ll drop a piano on you’ is a threat. As for whether the legal system in the USA distinguishes one from the other, I’d hope so for the sake of anyone who lives there, but it wouldn’t exactly surprise me massively either way.

Kind of unsure why you are defending him either way? Real life legal system aside, even the threat part aside, are you saying his statement isn’t harassment, isn’t vulgar, isn’t obnoxious and uncalled for in any way? Why is this even a discussion?

^because being tactless and/or vulgar does not automatically make one guilty of whatever other thing we feel like accusing them of.

And yet of the many bullets I posted, he broke at least half if not every single one. He doesn’t deserve justification or enabling. In the end it doesn’t matter, if Arenanet finds it against the rules-which they probably will-, then he will probably receive a pretty harsh ban. And nothing you or I say will change that fact.

I couldn’t possibly care less if some random I’ve never heard of before today (I’d have to scroll up to even remember who he is, at that) gets banned. I was reading the thread and felt like pointing out that they never threatened to do anything at all, because that’s just a really bizarre thing to take from that post.
If they did something against the rules (and I’m sure they did in this case, but generally speaking) there’s no reason to misrepresent it as something worse than it is – and if they hadn’t done anything against the rules, misrepresenting it as such would be pretty questionable itself. Either way, I just don’t see the point in making it out to be what it wasn’t.
