Token Collector (extreme drudgery at Sopor)
How are those tokens required for progress? Have you done the LS2 ones that require some precise jumping? Any class can do the JP. Any race can do the JP.
I completed Token Collector without being an expert at insane jumping puzzles and without grinding.
(I’m not in favor of ANet putting tokens at the end of JPs like Chalice of Tears. I just don’t it’s a big enough issue for them to consider changing things. I just hope they think twice in the future.)
I got 36/40 tokens only to notice the rest of them are deep within a jumping puzzle. I watched the video guide for the puzzle and decided that maybe it’s not a puzzle for me. I wish they’d move them anywhere else that didn’t involve a high chance of brutal death followed by a several minute trip back to try again.
Or do the silverwastes approach and allow us to return to checkpoints if we screw up, even if it costs a gold to purchase the service.
So, that’s unfortunate.

It may not be so much “any class can do the JP. Any race can do the JP.” as it may be other issues that preclude one from doing some of the jumping puzzles. You do have to factor in folk’s computer issues/connection and personal factors such as real life handicaps that prevent them from accomplishing jumping puzzles. Folk should not have to delineate why they cannot do a JP especially if it involves a disability.
I think OP just would like to get the tokens for that particular achieve not necessarily “progress.” I was not happy about those tokens buried in a JP. Thank goodness for the kindness of the incredible mesmers out there that help folk who cannot for varying reasons complete JPs and selflessly help some of us get things like these tokens.

The JP already has 5 checkpoints.
I’ve put this in many other threads about this JP, if you’re interested I have done many ports through the JP to get all the tokens/chest at the end. You are welcome to add me in-game and ask for any ports up and I would be happy to help.
(Note I am a U.S server player. I have an EU account however I currently am still working on leveling my mesmer and earning masteries as the account is only 2 days old at best. If you are an EU player and are in need of assistance, PM me and I will get you my EU account name).
I say this because I know alot of people are like me. Achievement completionists, even if its not a requirement.
Anyway let me know if you’d like assistance getting the tokens, I am more than happy to help.

I can vouch for Deadlypixel. S/he got me to my last two Mursaat tokens with grace, style, and great patience, along with shepherding a number of others through the JP at the same time. One of the nicest people I’ve met in this game and there are plenty of nice ones

I read somewhere, and maybe it was wrong, that dying loses credit for checkpoints in terms of completing the puzzle. Are you saying if you die, you can return to a checkpoint?

If you leave the puzzle area, you lose the checkpoints (works the same in SW’s Drydock Scratch). If you die and use a WP, you’ll have left the puzzle area. If someone rezzes you, you’ll remain in the area and won’t lose the checkpoints.
(Unlike SW, changing to a new instance also loses you checkpoints in EB.)

So unlike drydock scratch, there’s no way to return to a previous checkpoint? I’ve never died in drydock scratch, but when I’ve fallen, the skritt tunnels let me back to where I need to go.
Chalice is a lot less forgiving in the whole not dying thing.
IF you die in the JP you will automatically be ported to the last checkpoint.
IF you die in the JP you will automatically be ported to the last checkpoint.
The only exceptions are if you die “outside” the JP area (i.e one of the token spots at the 4th (3rd as most people see “inside” the jp if they don’t count the “entrance” tunnel), there’s a token in a cave, which if you die inside, you lose the checkpoints). If you die anywhere INSIDE the Jumping puzzle (like the big lava pit in the middle), you will port to the last checkpoint you crossed.
