Guild Wars 2

I am eagerly awaiting the release of Season 2. This past few months have renewed my faith in arena net and I’m ready to explore Tyria and expand the universe. There is just one thing missing… a trailer! Nothing builds up to an expansions like a tease at whats to come. Ingame or HD graphics… I don’t care. I want something I can watch 50 times and speculate and fangirl over. This is just my opinion. I feel the resources aren’t wasted because trailers you can spread and share and really get people interested in whats to come.

Still a couple of weeks out… We might still see a trailer, but I’m not concerned if we don’t.

ohh yes something like the fractured trailer would be awesome. But Lanfear is right, I would expect it to hit either this coming tuesday or even the one after that. We’ll see.

I’m expecting a countdown timer until season 2 starts on the front page 2 weeks before July 1st and an actual teaser released a week before. Or, if no teaser video is planned, then the timer would probably start 1 week prior to July 1st. That would certainly help get me pumped for season 2. Countdown until X thing always helps build anticipation as it also shows the excitement the company has for sharing their creation with us.

Im expecting an epic trailer with ingame cinematics of zerging, and a booming, menacing voice that is not connected to any character or entity in the actual release itself telling us about the awesomeness.

A teaser trailer or two won’t be amiss before the big one.

I expect to hear a really awesome voice wasted on a trailer instead of actually being used ingame.

Remember the Twisted Marionette trailer? What happened to that dude? His voice was awesome…

The true release previews usually happens a week prior to the update. So that would be June 24th. Give it some time.

That said… Some trailers that they’ve done were massively spoiler-tastic. Which is highly annoying to me. I’d rather get nothing than spoiler leaks.

Hope they do a trailer. Would really get the buzz going beyond the GW2 community.

They typically release details and trailers exactly one week before the patch day.

Yeah, but something more than just a two minute trailer. I’d like it if they did a S2 trailer rather than a trailer for the coming living world release. The logic of course being that a S2 trailer would probably be far more exciting, and give us forum dwellers all sorts of interesting theory crafting (was Mordy or just a champion? Who was that? Is that a new dungeon? etc.).

However a season 2 trailer wouldn’t really be plausible since they likely have 0 assets and minimal story for anything beyond the first four months – if that much.
