Tremors are coming from the north
We don’t know where Primordus is. He awoke under the shiverpeaks but he has been on the move for 200 years according to the Movement of the World.
And yes, there are clear indications that Jormag has also become more active.
If I’m not mistaken, Primordus is lurking around in the Depths of Tyria. In otherwords, the fact that it’s underground means it has the potential to move around anywhere in the world and pop up wherever it wants to. Plus, we’ve seen Destroyers everywhere from Mount Maelstrom to Kessex Hills, and even Lornar’s Pass in the Shiverpeaks. It’s not too far fetched to think Primordus could decide there’s something there worth checking out.
Another possible explanation for the tremors up north could be… well, I believe there’s another bloodstone up there. Maybe Lazarus is up to something?
Or maybe it is Jormag, and this season will deal with multiple Elder Dragons rampaging all at once.
Personally, I’m applying Occam’s Razor and assuming it’s just Primordus digging around. For the moment, at least.
“Tremors in the North” also appear to be a cryptic clue for the first waypoint you go to. Or at least the waypoint the NPC is currently at, since it appears she may move.
Said location also makes sense when you follow through the achievement
Wht NPC are you talking about?
The NPC being talked about is Seis Burntheart, a charr studying these recent tremors and shifts in magic. I added a wiki page for her so people can start editing it once new information (dialogue, new NPC locations) is revealed.
This is an enjoyable event so far and different from the last few but.. why are the sensor icons stationary? It breaks the flow of the event, having to stop and start as you’re running around.
Has Seis even left Frostgorge? I went to the second location and waited for a long time. Nothing. And went back after reset. Same. Is this broken?

It has been more than 24 hours since the reset that NPC has not moved from forstgorge. I think there could be a bug on her. It would be bad if her cycle would be 2 weeks on the next update, people would just be waiting at Snowden for nothing if that were true.
It would be nice to let players know when the NPC should move to another map so that we don’t waste time waiting for nothing and enjoy the other parts of the game more.
Also it would be helpful if the developers would add a UI tracker for the current events so that players are informed any changes on the events they still need to participate in.
Like in the last current event update it was really a waste of time waiting for the crazed moa for hour for it not to spawn in Snowden, and had to do lots of map hoping in order that you may get lucky that it spawns. The Anomaly was given better treatment since it spawn a message where it appears which helps.
Honestly, I like the feature in GW1 that it alerts the player that they have been logged in for a certain amount of time and asks them to take a break, it may be annoying for some but it shows the developers care for the player. in GW2, doing these kinds of “waiting” events makes you feel that the devs just want you to log in for the sake of the surprise of the randomness if the event will spawn or not.

I have to admit, given the reaction to the ‘stay around and wait to have fun’ previous events, I’m surprised ANet didn’t give some kind of timer to make players aware.
‘Soon’ isn’t cutting it.
I wish the game was more specific, but I gave up “expecting” to be able to do everything the first day after a patch. As long as I can start/stop progress at will, I am okay with waiting til tomorrow or Friday or next week. (With the Bloodstone-crazed foes, I had to go by ANet’s schedule, which stopped being fun during Drytop.)
Does anybody else think that this might be a Season 3 long achievement? People keep calling it an “event”, but after all, it is more of a personal quest tied to an achievement. People can do it individually when they choose, and there is no orange indicators on the map.
My thought is that Seis will move when the next episode of Season 3 releases. I think tracking these tremors may be part of the story leading up to the main focus of the next expansion (or next Living World Season). Whether it is Primordus, Jormag, Lazarus, or something else; it may set the stage and location of the next content.

I suspect it will move next week or next current event patch (bi weekly). Waiting til next episode will just diminish the interest and hopefully they have learned not to drag content out after they said they wouldn’t do it with the main story anymore.
Rather than creating suspense though, this is just annoying some of the community now. These are meant to laid back intervals to keep us going, not sure they are fulling achieving their goal atm judging by in game chatter..
I’d just like to know when she will move. That way I could stop going and checking every time I log in.

I could see it being a “long game” type of event. I don’t think the next part will be the Ep. 2 release, that’d be a little ridiculous considering they said it’d be 2-3 months between episodes now, but maybe each new one happens in a couple of weeks, while they additionally keep adding other events and side effects building up to something. Like, maybe in a couple weeks Seis moves on to Snowden Drifts with her tracker quests, and they also add another new current event related thing at that point having to do with the tremors. So as she moves along, things get progressively worse, until she reaches the final location, and then things really start to come to a head by the time she reaches a conclusion with her research.
Maybe Ep. 2 will address the worsening conditions and this is part of a direct lead-in to that.
In any case, I’m kind of amused by how bent out of shape people are getting about this. People are comparing it to previous events like the Bloodstone Creatures in terms of waiting, which its really not. Those you were waiting on strict timers for specific events to happen and you needed to hang around certain locations for possibly extended periods of time waiting. Effectively preventing you from doing anything else. Here, all you need to do is check her location once a day (or just check the forums). If there’s no movement you can go on with your play as usual. And when she DOES move, there’s no waiting involved, grab her tracking spell and search your trackers at your own pace.
I especially like the people who just need to know the schedule. Like right now. Or they’ll explode.
Tremors aren’t exclusive to Primordus though – every dragon is big enough to cause them. And since now we know dragons can be rather unconventional, like Mordremoth, it can be literally any one of them.
It could be, but the signs are more pointing to Primordus, since he has been mentioned, the first wp is literaly over the Central Transfer CHamber he was in when we first encountered him in GW1 before he moved on and the NPC unlocks a collection specific to Primordus.
Would be quite odd if it then turned out to be Kralkatorrik or Bubbles..
he moved …………………………………………………….nm it was my screen flickering
Would be quite odd if it then turned out to be Kralkatorrik or Bubbles..
It could possibly be signs of Jormag then they’ll name the next expansion Fire and Ice pertaining to Primordus and Jormag. Or Flame and Frost if they want to re-use the title.

This is also what I think. It starts to get boring to go by one dragon per expansion. Fire and ice would make a cool theme. then wHen we kill jormag and prim, glint’s egg wil have enough magic to hatch and be a proper dragon. Maybe kralk will get desparate and finally awake the sea dragon. It would probably fit in 1 or 2 more expansion (excluding the one currently in development) and conclude the whole story before we can move on to gw3!
It would be funny if the tremors are caused by the dragons getting indigestion from too much magic flowing around.
So maybe on the next update FGS will have more Jormag crystal ice droppings during the claw event.
I got a question about seis, maybe someone can help me. I wasn’t able to do the task in frostgorge sound because I was away. Is she returning to this location after a full cycle or is the achievement no longer obtainable for me?
Thanks in advance for any responses
Thats what it says in the patch note. Gonna make a wild assumption that this is story related. But what is it implying?
Considering its tremors, I would assume its dragon related. But Prima shouldnt be in the north(?)
Is Jormag active too?
He was asleep in the Central Transfer Chamber n Eye of the North. This was located close to Yaks bend in GW1. Which a way point is called. Which is in the northern most map, so it could be.

You can still do Frostgorge after she has left

There’s an NPC in Frostgorge (look for the icon over its head) that gives the ‘quest’.
Good luck.
Thank you so much for the fast reply, I’m really glad to hear that
Ok so the Dwarves are down there fighting Primodius…. so if he is coming up to play, are they coming too?
If there are dwarves, there likely won’t be many of them. After 250+ years of constantly fighting lava monsters and not replenishing their population in any way, it’d be a marvel if any are left. Aside from Ogden. But he forestalled his “Becoming the Great Dwarf” thing and I guess that allowed him to maintain enough independence to do something other than “Smash dragon!”
It’s possible though. There MIGHT still be a few survivors.
I think it’s the opposite. They defeated Primordius long ago and regained their organic forms. Since then they’ve been breeding explosively and now there’s so many of them the stomping of their little dwarf feet is causing the tremors. Overpopulation is forcing them to return to the surface for more space and resources. The next expansion will be about a dwarf invasion of Tyria.

Even though I know you are kidding, having thousands of Kilroy Stonekin offspring charge up through the depths would be a photobomb moment

Well, half kidding, in that as much as I’d enjoy this kind of twist I don’t think for a moment that it’s actually what’s happening. I was just imagining a break from the trope of dragon killing we’ve had so far. And the trope of dwarves being good.
It would be AMAZING if this happened:
The dwarves having turned to stone to serve the great dwarf have not become the free loving hearty folk we have known. For years those dwarves battling the dragon have been chipping away at all parts of themselves that make them weaker, empathy, compassion, any semblance of a conscience… instead they have become much more like machines in their mindset. In their quest to stop Primordus they became more and more ruthless and calculating. They were unable to find a way to kill the dragon but they themselves were also rendered immortal. Having their hearts turned to stone they have but one purpose, preserve the land by eliminating all threats.
Killing Primordus would hardly accomplish this task, as there are still other elder dragons to deal with. With this in mind, the cold calculating dwarves have been unable to kill the Primordus, but they have been able to capture, and subdue him… for now. They are in the process of boring into the dragon’s own head to hollow out the portions of its brain that let it think and reason, turning it into little more than a tool of destruction the dwarves can use the eliminate other threats to the land.
Primordus’ minions are being called back to their master as Primordus attempts to struggle free using the last of his will to break the chains the dwarves have constructed that bind it and free the Dragon.
The Elder Dragon breaking free will mean the newly formed Dragon’s Watch will have to battle the dragon without the help of the now extinct dwarves… but aiding the dwarves will mean unleashing a heartless cold legion upon Tyria, now armed with the power of an Elder Dragon and possibly ready to identify the other races of tyria as threats to the land.
I call it…. Between Fire and Rock
The dwarves, being turned to stone..
Primordus may have corrupted them and turned them into minions.
So when we get to it.. we may have dwarves as well as destroyers to fight..

Seis, moved, she does not give you the device for the tremors, but she lets you know that whatever it was continued moving to the West and we are a few step behind.
Plus the new trailer looked extremely awesome! What ever we face, I hope it has the same quality as ep 1.
