That tunnels you need for story should be open always its NOT FUN waiting 50min for it!!!!

The tunnels can be opened by doing the event for opening them (killing bandits).
It is not timed.

There is a timer between closure and event activation, but it is very short. Maybe 10-15mins at most.

Actually…apparently it is the time it takes for me to make a decent cup of coffee since it was active when i got back lol

Hah, maybe you should look for a solution on your own before complaining on the forums.
