It just feels like they are actually getting worse with this living story content…

First we get a cave with a guy inside, the group version is the same cave, different mob.

This karka queen is a veteran karka with legendary status.

The consortium contract solo instance was 3 mob encounters and a cutscene.

Look, I understand you are trying to do this bi monthly content cycle. Sounds great. But the result is nothing short of poor. Quality over Quantity. Yes it seems like you can put out these small updates twice a month, but we get little to nothing out of them.

Your holiday stuff was amazing, loved Halloween, loved Wintersday, SAB was great. This Dragon Bash is sure to be a hit. But this living story arc, in its execution, is downright low quality stuff.

With your newfound love for RNG boxes you are sure to be making tons of cash from us.

I advise you to use it wisely. Your living story “experiment” seems to be crashing.

Signed – someone who logs in and enjoys Guild Wars, but is not currently enjoying the way in which you add content and gate skins with RNG instead of gameplay.

Note that the Southsun Living Story team had few people (it’s what I could get from the few statements given by devs or CMs). For example, Canach and NULL were programmed by a single dev. And the overall content for the Southsun arc was done in a really restrained amount of time, apprently.

As for RNG boxes it’s been discussed in many threads.

I like the idea of a changing game and new content. Ive done just about everything, and new stuff even though temporary, i find rewarding and look forward to it. If they made it permanent it would get old pretty quick, and i find it gets old anyways before the temporary content ends.

-Super adventure box was great, i did it so many times i could run all zones of world one in 12m. I played the crap out of it and it got old after a few weeks, but if it was around any longer, the rewarding skins would be worthless now. I do like temporary content becuase it makes these items rare over time.

-I loved the molten facility becuase it was challenging & there were rare rewards i wanted, like the jetpack.

-Even though most of the southsun content wasn’t very rewarding it still gave us some nice back pieces. The dungeons i think would have been alot better if they offered unique items. Yes i’m all about the loot, if i’m not rewarded, i find it isn’t worth doing (eventhough fun is the real goal).

I started at christmas and i was low lvl when it was going so i dont have much input on that content or the content before it. But as it is now, we seem to get new content with every update and i look forward to each future update. It keeps me going, thank you A-team.

Edit: Btw i don’t like the rgn boxes either. I hate seeing loot that i can’t get. I like rare and expensive items, but keeping them out of the reach of 95% of players becuase they don’t spend rl money is wrong. I could support these boxes if the rgn weapons were sellable on the trading post. Atleast give your players a way to buy them other then spending rl money. I know some that got the scarelet weapons who thought they were ugly and never used them, and i know some droped alot of money on crates and never got any. They should be sellable like the holloween skins, they did those boxes correctly, i think.

Thumbs up on the post – I was expecting so much more with this arc coming out of the flame and frost conclusion. We finished the refugees story but I had a where do we go from here kinda feeling.
I did however like the pace of this arc it was quick and I didn’t have to direct many guild mates to dulfy to finish months old achievements
