Vermignus/Smooshatron fight is weak
You can hit it. Range when it’s spitting stuff and melee when the head is down. I did it the first time I saw the wurm and WoodenPotatoes video of the area has him attacking it. (There’s white numbers showing damage).
ANet may give it to you.
It’s been a huge disappointment to see the real fight after the trailer of Rising Flames.
Vermignus had the potential to be a new world boss. But it ended up being a lame defense event.
The Molten Dominator isn’t challenging as well, considering he’s a champion of Primordus. Then there’s the sloth queen – you’re not even able to be there on time because it’s gone so fast.
In the making-of video of Rising Flames they were talking about the deadliest map in Tyria. While the Fire Islands were pretty deadly in GW1, this is not the case in GW2. Maybe there’s still more to come. But Ember Bay was ridiculous in terms of difficulty.

Yes the new zone was a disappointment. There is not much reason to go there after a few days, then you have all 6 minis + backpack skin.
The events are mostly too easy.
The new weapon set is just purchaseable for gold. What a wasted opportunity to keep the map alive. Should have been similar to ambrite weapon collection in terms of difficulty.

Yeah, the sloth queen was extremely disappointing. There’s no way to prevent her from eating the slublings, even though the NPC seems to think there is (is there?). The food delivery mechanic doesn’t seem to do anything, and she dies so fast that I’ve only ever seen her breakbar phase once (yes, she actually has one).

The fights in both Bloodstone Fen and Ember Bay are mundane and unimaginative. I would surmise that anets good monster designers are all working on the xpac. Its a pity because I’m actually enjoying the story.
