English isn’t my first language, so I use a spell checker in my browser, but in the other hand I also use it for my first language (portuguese) so I’m not ashamed at all.

My pet peeve for the past two years has been people writing ‘Kohler’ instead of ‘Kholer’ when referring to the boss in Ascalonian Catacombs. Not sure why it annoys me. Bad spelling/grammar doesn’t usually bother me unless it’s clearly intentional which just makes the person in question look like an idiot because they’re basically saying that spelling badly and acting dumb is cool or funny when the opposite is true. At least TRY to write properly it shows even when you make mistakes or are foreign or dyslectic (Like I do all the time being non-native). It’s hard to respect people that write like this “wen sum1 iz talkn lyke diz cuz m cOOl brah” all the time it looks so dumb.

Another thing that gets me is when people assume all characters out there are male. It’s got nothing to do with spelling obviously, but it’s the same “I don’t care” attitude that just feels disrespectful to me.

The skrittburglar and Nochtli are examples of this.

I have seen the Karka Queen referred as ‘he’. That made me shake my head in dismay.

As for those mispelled words, my pet peeve is ‘diety’.

I’ve got plenty o’ peeves, but one that had me staring in disbelief recently was the use of “archievement.” This was not a typo. It was used over and over again, by multiple posters. Do they really think there’s an ‘r’ in there? Really?
