I haven’t been palying the game for quite a while, but this episode got me intrigued and, aside from the story, I also completed every achievement tied to it. Then I thought what was that good about this compared to the last episodes of the first season and guess what: “I could do all of the achievements SOLO”. When I logged in the game in the past episodes i just checked what was to do and logged off because I don’t want to rely on other people to play the game. Some achievementswere doable only in massive events with a zerg (the thing that I hate the most about this game), especially in the Lion’s Arch city attack, that’s why I haven’t even played for an hour during that time. Making everything soloable is also a good way to make us feel that our characters are special for the world of the game, and not some minions, mindlessly attacking monsters with other minions.

I’m looking forward for the next episode of the living story, please don’t disappoint me (that means no zergy events, zerg=bad, i prefer a 5 man instance)

I must be in the minority because i really dislike this focus on solo content. This is an mmo and i want more cooperative content that requires player interaction with other players.

I’m aware that you can party and complete the content with other players, but there is no point when it is easily soloable, It loses satisfaction. That is one of my biggest grioes with this game, for an mmo it does a great job of making you feel alone because there is little reason to communicate with other players. I wish they would switch focus to having more content that requires partying up with other players, like the missions in gw1. I’m talking instanced content, of course, that requires strategy rather than zerg content.

I understand that being able to complete things solo is nice at times, and some of it should be possible for sure, but having an entire story, whether personal or living story, be soloable is kind of boring in my opinion. I think it is a mistake for this genre to promote solo content to this extent.

Am I alone here?

Actually, I think this event has a decent combination of both solo & group play. There are soloable achievements, which is good. People always gripe when they have to rely on others to earn an achievement (can’t blame em). But there are also group events, as well as better zone rewards from the entire map working together for T4.
