Elementalist – Necromancer – Warrior
What characters would you like to see again?
Elementalist – Necromancer – Warrior
I said this in a post I created: I would like to see the “LA Characters” again this upcoming season. I’m talking about Ellen Kiel, Captain Magnus, Evon Gnashblade, Hero-Tron and the Consortium(And now Mai Trin XD).
Consortium: they are a greedy organization, the have said they plan to take over the BLTC, a former golem might be proof of unorthodox golem-making.
At the end of Season 2 there was a small scene that sets up Hero-Tron as an unwilling spy for Evon so the charr can learn secrets about the Captain’s Council.
There is concept art of a giant 3 headed Hydra attacking LA. I want to see these prominint characters from Season 1 do something, I really hope that Anet has not forgotten about them….
While your Mai Trin idea sounds nice, if I envision her becoming the captain of the aerodrome (if such a thing were to happen) after losing a battle against Ellen and the player, after losing the battle, Ellen Assigns her to work in the aerodrome (with a handful of lionguard to keep an eye on her).
Malyck.
I don’t think this one really needs an explanation.
Dragonbrand
Pretty much any PS or S1 npc that hasn’t been heard from again. The list is far too long. And that list doesn’t count open world NPCs that just disappeared after the content was over.
However, I really hope they don’t pull another Ela Makkay. That NPC is simply put WAY OVER USED. I mean, LOR-748 Field Reporter could have done the recap. Why was Ela Makkay used for practically every Season 1 chapter (Flame and Frost, Bazaar of the Four Winds/Cutthroat Politics, and every chapter/release from Tower of Nightmares to Festival of the Four Winds) and then brought again – higher ranked – in Season 2 and then used as the Season 1 recap NPC… For a scholar, she doesn’t seem to have a singular focus, and why did she get promoted – just to fill the role of ‘a magister we know’? There are other magisters out there…
Ela got to the point of annoying returns like Bloomaloo and Penelopee – the harbingers of death and destruction (for wherever they go, death follow – LA LOOK OUT! AGAIN!!). And not to mention that the movement paths of Bloomaloo and Penelopee make no sense. They’re refugees of Viathan Lake – okay – they go to LA seeking refuge – okay – they go into Gendarran looking for a permanent home – sure, why not – they go back to Kessex Hills – uh…. – just to get to the coastal Grove (note: Kessex Hills is not very coastal, let alone Fort Salma where they were when mordrem attacked) – sure…. – just to go back to LA where they’ve settled down…. – what? What’s next, returning to Gendarran as the Deep Sea Dragon assaults LA, then finding a home in the Grove until the anti-sylvari movement marches on the doorsteps?
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I’d like to see the Pact members from the Personal Story be used more. We spent the entire Personal Story building up an army, learning about the three orders and their stengths only to move away from all of that with the Living World.
It would have be much more enjoyable for me to learn about the discovery of Mordremoth (and the response of the Pact and its members) if we had actually been there with the NPCs reading the scrolls. It feels like we are on the outside of the story these days now that we don’t work directly with the Pact.
The two most compelling story moments in the Mordremoth arc both happened off screen. The reveal of Mordremoth’s existence and the initial discussions about it and the destruction of the Pact fleet – and we missed both of them. How cool would it have been to be on the ships, sailing into the jungle feeling like we were actually going to take down the dragon, only to have a mission where we are onboard a flying airship as the sylvari turned and the fleet was destroyed. That’s far more exciting than turning up after the action happened or watching a cut scene. The most exciting moment of the HoT story takes place without the player.
Wynnet, Doern, Effut, Laranthir. Almorra, the Master of Whispers and Gixx. Hell, I’d love to see Jennah, Smoldur, Firstborn, Flax, Knut – I’d like to see the leaders play a more prominent role in the story, not just sitting back and doing politics. World of Warcraft does a very good job of this – they involve their prominent figures and major players in their stories so you always feel heroic and important by association.
Chauncy. Cat’s got style.
Taimi..
But if they don’t lower the difficulty i’m not buying anymore story at all.

Well I hope you’re enjoying “Current events.”
I will probably get some controversy for this but I think we need to see more of Logan Thackarey in a new expansion. Ever since Logan got Snaff killed via Kralktorrik and by leaving for Ebonhawke to help Queen Jennah, Logan might be harboring dark and desperate thoughts to stop Kralkatorrik. Plus what if Queen Jennah got killed by Kralkatorrik’s minions or maybe even the Shatterer, causing Caudecus to become King of Kryta and provoking another war with the Charr. I would love to see Logan go rouge and decide this is the last straw and disappear without a trace to go to Elona and possibly even commit to something extreme; offering to help Palawa Joko in exchange for him and his Mordent Crescent to help stop Kralk in an act of desperate vengeance. During Logan’s trip to Elona he could very well become the first of a new profession for players, possibly like the Dervish profession from the first game.

It might start to feel too formulaic if they stick to a pattern of new expansion = someone from destiny’s edge becoming the first of the new playable class. Your motivations for everything else sounds good though.
Hoping future story brings these characters into focus.
Canach – the outsider who really should be our PC’s right-hand man
Malyck – as mentioned above, needs little explanation why
Izu Steelshrike (or one of his brethren) – I’d like a prominent Tengu to link up because the Tengu will play a bigger role in the future, just not certain how near
Livia – Scepter of Orr, where now, time to show up, we’re running out of Elder Dragons
Razah – a wild(card) revenant re-appears
Seamarshal Belit / Initiate Xun Tsu / Mistwarden Roshone
Seafarer’s Rest | Northerner @ Dragon Season
“E” needs to return.
:)
While they’re not really a defined character, I sure did miss the presence of the Tyrian Explorers Society in the HOT maps!
Seriously, what happened to TES between season 2 and HOT?

The Guild Initiative is a subdivision of the Tyrian Explorers Society.
So they’re more defined in HoT than ever before.

Dougal Keane.
Scarlet.
I like the theme of Mai Trin, steampunk pirates with flying ships are cool.
I also laughed at the harbringers of doom idea. Nothnig good can come from a quaggan anyway, they are the Asura of the sea.^^
