Agreed. The current model of LA looks like its designed by a singular skritt with attention disorder and a fetish for quaggans and other crustaceans. Like a disney waterpark built on a parking lot.

I cant wait for *S*taphylococcus the water elder dragon to wash it off tyria and we can rebuilt it a proper hub of trade again.

I recall everyone laughed when the blind one issued a prophecy that giant asura bots known collectively as Galaxius Notius 7 would burn Lion’s Arch. There is now no laughter, and townfolk glance nervously as they walk past portals and gates. I suspect, however, that the bots may have been miniaturized and arrive in tiny innocent-looking boxes this Wintersday.

I suspect you have something against divinty’s reach?

Personally I’d prefer a major attack on a city that has not been attacked yet. Currently we’ve had attacks on LA (Risen, Karka, Aetherblades, Scarlet) The Grove (mordremoth) and Divinity’s Reach (Scarlet).

That leaves the Black Citadel, Hoelbrak and Rata Sum.

It’ll be the Black Citadel hit next. Assuming we actually go to the Crystal Desert next, the closest big city is the Citadel itself. So that will probably get hit and get partially damaged. The charr aren’t likely to have their Iron Legion capital go down without a fight.

We need to have Rata Sum or the Black Citadel destroyed next. I vote Rata Sum. Those little snotty Asuran could use a good but kicking. We can have their cube look like the one in fractals. All smashed up!

IF a city gets destroyed anytime soon, I can honestly see it either being the Black Citadel, Rata Sum, or Hoelbrak. Rata Sum will be destroyed by either the Mursaat/ White Mantle or Primordus. Black Citadel will be destroyed by the dragon in the Crystal Desert(sry, forgot it’s name, Ktalkatorik?). Hoelbrak will be destroyed by Jormag. Those are just some of the many possible theories.

In the name of the Six Gods, every single Spirit of the Wilds, and the Eternal Alchemy, please don’t pray for a destruction of Lion’s Arch again! Now, it would’ve been funny if the lion fountain was still there, because that got destroyed regularly, but we finally rebuilt it nice and pristine, and while it loses some of that rustic charm old Lion’s Arch used to have, I’m willing to accept it and move on. We don’t need it destroyed again. It’s a lot of work to rebuild these thing, and I’ll be quite happy if we don’t spend resources rebuilding our bases while we’re fighting ever more powerful dragons.

I remember to read somwhere that Anet is “done with destroying maps we created”. Maybe to create maps already destroyed? Like BSF?

Destroy Lion’s Arch? What Lion’s Arch? I don’t see any cities which resemble Lion’s Arch at all. OOOH! You mean Disney Waterpark? yea, they can destroy that.

Another city being destroyed would serve no purpose at this point, but there is something that probably will happen in DR given the krytan politics atm, the resurgence of the white mantle.

DR might become a civil-war zone with hostile mantle npcs attacking the loyalist queens seraph/shining blade and civilians.

I expect that Jennah will have a proper assassination attempt on her life this time, not just the one that scarlet tried but something significantly more aggressive by Cadecus and his followers as a last-ditch effort to conquer the city by force.

I do believe this, Jennah will be injured in the final battle, quite badly, much like the pale tree was, taking her out of the picture will destablaise the unity of the world further as the tree and jennah really served as two of the only real advocates for peace among the leadership.

Which could lead to some interesting storylines in future.

The way I see it, DR would become an internal battlefield with streetways filled with blood and fire, some buildings being burned down and certain parts of the city being locked off by the Seraph to prevent the Mantle getting inside.

Then the Ministry betrays them from within, causing even more havoc as they force open the gates and let the mantle make their move.

I think that’s off the table now.
The White Mantle is currently split and probably fighting amongst themselves. One group is lead by Caudacus, the other by Lazarus. And Lazarus has already stated that he has no interest in the Krytan throne.

Caudacus’s plan was to retake the Krytan throne using an army of Jade Constructs. But that plan blew up in his face (literally, see Bloodstone Fen). And now he lost half of the White Mantle to Lazarus.

I also doubt assassinating the queen alone would be enough for him to take over. Ever since the Caudacus’s mansion dungeon he doesn’t have nearly the same power he used to have in Krytan politics. Queen Jennah and the shining blade kept him on a short leash. If Queen Jennah were to die, it’s more than likely another minister would replace her.

I doubt we’ll see a resurgence anytime soon.

Would be cool and if I remember correctly, there’s been a similar event in the beta, turning players into branded creatures.

But unfortunately I have a bad feeling with their latest introduction of dragons in mind:

Yes, it would probably be something like another zone connected to it. Two of the areas (norn and charr) have that already but the other 3 have only 1. Since we just did Maguuma my money is on something next to/under DR if something like this were to happen.

There’s always the other way to do it…introduce a new zone with a city already under attack. For example, giving us the Blood Citadel, which is the Blood Legion capital, and is just east of the Blazeridge Mountains.

Lions Arch will change when Lazarus ravages and slaughters thousands after deceiving the other races again. :-)

Old LA was so much better it’s really no contest at all

The new LA looks like it belongs in Cantha primarily the Luxons they should have simply rebuilt LA quickly into it’s same form rather than introduce this current thing we have now.

For whatever gets destroyed, I just hope I get my post-Scarlet Postern Ward access and my Lion Statue back. But keep the Tour Guide, I like her.

One thing that’s far better about the current LA is that it’s properly defended. There are dozens and dozens of gigantic cannons stationed all over the city. There’s also a huge aerodrome with airships. Not to mention this time the city is made of solid mortar and stone, not crumbling rotting scrapwood like old LA.

You would think that if a city gets attacked so often, they would improve their defenses. Now they finally did.

First of all new LA is hmmm… new, so I don’t expect any destruction. Just add the Big Lion and it will be fine.

2nd thing- the story leads us to 2 targets- Primordus and Caudecus.

I think, that the signal from Braham that Jormag is active is just that Jormag wants possess the energy and will go to sleep once more.
About Kralkatorrik- I think, that he will the next target, when Aurene will be older.
DSD- we just can muse about him. Yes, we got some simple signal about him like when Taimi said: “Nothing on Kralkatorrik, and ditto for… Oh, what’s its name? Brain malfunction. Starts with an s…?”, but it is not too much.

You said something about next destructions of other cities, this is what I think about it:
1) The Grove was already attacked, Mordremoth is dead, so he won’t attack the Pale Tree again.
2) Rata Sum (look below)
3) Lion’s Arch (look up)
4) Divinity’s Reach won’t be destroyed*, because Caudecus wants the throne and he would be stupid, that he would want destroy* the city and rebuild it again. The war (if we will see this) will be in the teritory of Kryta. The most possible is Queensdale.
5)Black Citadel- I don’t know what the minions of any dragon could destroy in this city. Black Citadel doesn’t need destruction, because it destroyed already.
6) Hoelbrak has great defense- the mountains.

I am almost convinced, that with the next chapter of LS3 we will get a new map.

I think, that expansion with Primordus will lead us to much more lands. We will get 2/3 maps in the Ring of Fire, but we won’t fight with him in this teritory. He will search much more magic from Mordremoth’s death. He will step to the teritory south of Dragon’s Stand. He will search next source of magic, which came out after Mordremoth’s death. And then he will be prepared to attack, he will try attack Rata Sum, but we will defend it successful, Asura will be convinced, that they killed him already, but he will use the magic, which got from Mordremoth and he will regrow. He will possess the magic from Tangled Depths and Dry Top. The fight will be in this blank space, it will be the most epic battle against the dragon so far. He will attack us everything he will have. He will create the big destroyer and we will have to kill him first, and then the fight against Primordus will begin. Will we win or lose?

Remember the Twisted Marionette Battle? That was in Lornar’s Pass (25-40lvl), but you can ask me: so why then you said “the battle will be in Queensdale”? This is the answer:

Gendarran Fields (25-35)- this is a map near Lion’s Arch, but White Mantle doesn’t want attack it, but Divinity’s Reach, so this map is eliminated.
Kessex Hills (15-25)- this map had already the event- Tower of Nightmares. This is the land full of destructions, so I cannot see any blank spaces here.
Harathi Hinterlands (35-45)- the map full of centaurs. btw there is a lot of events, I cannot see any blank spaces here as well.
Queensdale (1-15)- Why this map then?
First: The map has a lot of blank spaces, the most possible is the area near Caudecus’ Manor.
Second: Queensdale is a map near Divinity’s Reach, so if White Mantle would win, they could attack the gate of Divinity’s Reach and then could deprive the throne.

I have no idea why someone came to the completely arbitrary idea that LA will be destroyed again. Why the hell would they wanna do that? Repeating the same story would be boring and they will never destroy any bigger town again in a long time (or ever). I don’t understand why there is even a discussion about this…

I really doubt they do anything to Queensdale or any other starter map. Those are the beginning leveling maps and ANet isn’t going to want to have anything that interferes with new people learning how to play the game. Those maps don’t even have the event dailies on them any more. Large numbers of level 80s doing events would be problem on starter maps as they would interfere with the new people getting credit for events and leveling.

Yep you are right, I did some further checking in the trailer and the attack is indeed on the east side.
