Either 3rd week in September, or up to the third week in October.
If what the Devs have previously stated holds true.

Given anet’s history, I expect them to release episode 2 sometime around march 2017 since the holiday updates and other stuff will come first. It will probably not be entirely complete so they’ll add the finishing touches around june 2017. After that they’ll need to focus on the next expansion, so there’ll be a short break in releases, not very long though, only about 9-15 months.
Episode 2 is on September 25th, 2314. Spoilers: We find out Taimi is the reincarnation of Zhaitan.
They told us ahead of time that LS3 episodes were going to be released 2-3 months apart. So the next episode will be in September or October.
Most likely bundled with the Halloween update. Which means probably no continuation to the Mad King sub plot… again. ;_;
The Secksy Monk [Guild Wars 1]
Stormbluff Isle – Storm Slayer Dragons [SDS]
My guess for part 2 is the 4th of october.
And then part 3 will come the 13th of december.
Both fit with Anet’s 2 week cadence and are 10 weeks apart.
Safest bet is halloween, followed by chapter 2
We’ll probably see something in the beginning of November after Halloween. If not by then, we’ll have to wait until the end of January.
They won’t do holiday events and LS together so it releasing with Halloween or Wintersday is out of the question.

Hot and halloween came out together. Its the first time its a question so you cant really say that

Well it was an expansion and not a LS release but I guess we’ll see later this year.
blood rubies need to be in wallet by the time episode 2 comes out I will have 10k rubies sitting in my bank.
If I recall correctly, a Living World episode and Halloween did overlap a few years ago. Halloween first by two weeks, and then the LW episode. But the safe bet is the newest episode will come out the latter part of September or early October.
I just hope they don’t recycle the same Halloween stuff three years in a row. . . .
Tower of Nightmares
I guess I was still bitter about them pushing the last episode of season two that I forgot about that particular release.

Considering Living Story episodes now last 2 to 3 (or more) months (plenty of time to complete), there may not be any hesitation about releasing them with other content. So to say, releasing them just as HoT was released concurrently with Halloween or Wintersday, or any other Festival.
well, if Anet tradition holds up… we will see Halloween come and go, then ls3/2 thenwinters fest, then ls3/3, then annlouncement of expac 3 and ls3 will either be I na 2 week rush at that point to finish, or they will end it with ls3/3 and we wont see jack squat for the next 9 months.
LS3 part 2 will be available on September/October.
If ANet will make it like LS2 until HoT we will see 3 parts of LS3. 3rd part- January/February.
the end will show that Primordus is fully awakened and we will see Baby Dragon.
And after 9 months the next expansion.
Is there any confirmation from arenanet which indicates that expac 2 will come out after LS 3 is over? Or is this just a speculation? Who knows maybe there will be LS 4 before the expac?

With Anet having said that there will be 2-3 months between episodes and that the time between expansion 2 and expansion 1 will be shorter than the time between expasnion 1 and launch, I don’t see any room for another season.
Sometime after or close to the end of pvp season.
my crystal ball tells me that episode 2 will be in September on the heels of Expac 2 announcement at PAX party 2016. Episode 3 in January, Episode 4 in March and Expac 2 launch in April.
Your Crystal Balls may vary.
ANet learned me that I cannot believe in the every word ANet said.
I agree, ANet started listen players but I hope LS3 part 1 is only origins to something much much much bigger than HoT and what we got. Gameplay is very very very important and ANet cannot make big break between updates, because it will mean that ANet doesn’t want make steps closer to make this game better. But I am very happy that ANet gave me “a Light in the Darkness”

LS during about 2 years.
HoT was the part of LS2 and was the end of LS2.
Expansion is the part the LS who during at the current moment.

I’m just saying that either way is just speculation. LS won’t come out with halloween, there’s no evidence to suggest either notion, so its really just 50/50
We know one thing- next epizode will be in 2/3 months.
If ANet prepares patch only with LS3 part 2 we will get it in September.
We will see.

Either way, its too long wait. I mainly liked this game because of living world, particulary season 1 version with constant updates. Im not much of a pve person in general but i liked the living world and the current wait of living world is what will make this game even more casual where people take long months breaks because of no content. It will harm the game in the long run, because if people take too long breaks they might never come back.

Agreed… I’m a VERY casual player myself and LWS2 kept me coming back daily to finish up everything I could on all my characters on that release…. with just enough time to do it in a week and then hit the next episode
This is a bit of speculation on my part, but I’ll stick my neck out here and you guys can rate my pre-cognition skills in 1.5 months.
My predictions/wish list:
Ep2 will be focused around Primordus
Because Taimi said so (well, duh Sherlock!). The introduction of the Primordus weapon collection achievement implies that too.
It will take place in Mount Maelstrom
Seis is leading us south… Mount Maelstrom would be a logical place for a Primordus based story to take place. 5 different locations as part of the achievement… Shiverpeaks > Snowden > Lornar’s > Dredgehaunt?? > Timerline?? then a final hop to Mt M.
Megadestroyer overhaul
You can’t have a cooler (hotter?) battle arena than inside a volcano… unfortunately the fight is kitten. A Primordus related update is the perfect time to revisit this.
Ep2 is 4-6 weeks away
The Tremors event is a countdown to Ep2… why else would this seemingly minor Current event be dragged out over 5 weeks? No single story achievement has been time-gated to that extent. And Anet knows we hate having an unreachable carrot dangled in front of us (e.g. Legendary armors) so why dangle such a weak-sauce carrot and irritate us…. UNLESS they are using it as part of their story telling/suspense building. 4 more weeks (this week plus 3 more map hopping weeks) +/- an extra 1-2 weeks for a “Destroyers gone wild” pre-Ep2 event sounds feasible. It feels kinda like Anet’s quietly confident approach leading up to Ep1… “We know we are annoying the hell out of you guys with these small teasers, but it’ll make the final reveal feel much sweeter” type of sentiment.
Yes, the near constant updates are what kept me with this game for so long. But, I fear, those days have come and gone given what Mo has said previously.
They are gone because they were hell on the devs and led to crappy, buggy, rushed content. They have been adding current events in lieu of more frequent updates but have said we can expect larger story portions every 2-3 months since they haven’t forced themselves into a 2-week schedule.
It’s better this way, and you still get the constant updates since they’ve added new events every 2 weeks since the beginning of July.
“Beware he who would deny you access to information,
for in his heart he dreams himself your master.”
Yes but I think the main thing that keeps us interested is the story (for me it is any way). Events that don’t have a clear tie in to the story are nice but not nearly as enthralling.
This probably could be considered lots of spoilers… so instead of just marking them and figuring out what is what I’m just going to flag the entire thing… and I have no idea how to make this work properly so here goes nothing…
I did the bandit events for a while thinking they were going to lead to something… and the best that it lead to are “white mantle are behind bandits” which really wasn’t satisfying because you could replace “white mantle” with any of the baddies from guild wars and that statement would make as much sense. It was especially odd because the white mantle are supposed to be religious fanatics who wouldn’t really associate themselves with bandits. Something along the lines of investigating odd graffiti, leading to evidence of investigations of blood sacrifice magic, leading to excavations of blood stone weapons (cues the release of the Black Lion skins), investigating kidnappings (the white mantle were known to kidnap people for sacrifices in GW1), maybe even having some prisoners steadily going missing from the dungeons only to realize that the shining blade have been infiltrated by members of the white mantle who have been spiriting them off as sacrifices and you have to lead a mission to go under cover and prevent the next kidnapping of prisoners and in the process you “befriend” Caudecus only to find out that he is orchestrating it and knew you were undercover the entire time, you are barely saved by Kas, Marjory, and Canach (on the countess’s orders), this leads to talking and receiving a letter from Taimi (who Kas and Marjory were just consulting with trying to get some of her newly acquired surveillance tech for the countess) so you go visit her, she then informs you there is something happening up north… go check it out, you get on the ship and need to stop by VB to pick up Rytlock who was studying some disturbances in the mists there (eventually you learn caused by Lazarus reactivating the bloodstones), then on your way there BOOM explosion, now everything plays out basically the same as it did in the game.
That seems to me to be a much better (and more consistent with the lore of GW1) series of events which would have actually included more clearly related mini-events. The ones we have now just seem either hastily put together (great i get to kill bandits… and then MORE bandits… oh and then REALLY POWERFUL BANDITS!!!!) or needlessly over stretched (go find these 5 probes… you have 30 minutes.. even though I will be here all week… try the veal.. but don’t worry if you finish and want to do something with the next 6 days you can do it again and get nothing for it other than the satisfaction of knowing you found 5 more probes of my seemingly endless supply) or seemingly unrelated (I am REALLY hoping the ley line anomalies fit in somewhere I am just worried it will be as loosely related as the bandit thing… like there is energy that is rebounding that for some reason didn’t rebound ever before… I actually think it would be amazing if Taimi’s next Golem somehow tapped into this idea like maybe a trapped ley line anomaly powers it and it becomes sentient BOOM new race)
BUT I digress and wonder off topic completely…. anyway… I think LWS3E2 will come out in 3-4 weeks whenever this current tremor event leads us to wherever it is it is leading us.
(edited by Quince.6037)
4-6 weeks (inclusive this week) depending on whether we get another pre-Ep2 current event. I explained my reasoning in my own speculation thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/Tremors-event-and-LS3-ep-2-speculation/6307941
As long as the next expansion carries new specialization with it, I couldn’t care about anything else. But they really should have had it so an episode comes out every month…
I’m guessing it’ll either be in 3 weeks time or 5 weeks time. Patches are bi-weekly. We had a patch a week ago, so next week would be the next possible patch. Then after 3 weeks, then after 5, ect.
3 weeks would line up with the last event for Seis Burnheart. She finishes her research and can point us towards some location where something related to the tremors starts happening which leads into the second part of the LS. Wouldn’t be surprised if we got a second current event next week which would run concurrently with Seis to up the anticipation as well.
Alternatively, after Seis’ event finishes we instead get another current event in which the tremors worsen or something happens with the White Mantle / Bloodstones, which lasts for 2 weeks and THEN transitions into Part 2.
Either way would also line up with the 2-3 month timeframe they’ve put forth for Living World updates for the time being.
If I had to pick one or the other, I’d probably lean towards it being earlier, if only because having an earlier release of this content would give more time between the release and Halloween as well as giving them more time to release Ep3 before the holidays get into full swing. Plus, Seis’ events being so spread out just seems like too much of an outlier to be pure coincidence. I’m thinking the schedule is there for a specific reason.
Well, it’s a lovely theory, but as of the most recent reset, I think the 5 weeks theory is down. It took Seis 5 days to move from Frostgorge Sound to Snowden Drifts. She moved again with today’s reset, which is 4 days after she arrived in Snowden Drifts, and the magic is leading us to Bloodtide Coast. I have a feeling whatever she’s tracking is building up to something, and wouldn’t be surprised if she moves to Bloodtide Coast even faster than she did to Lornar’s Pass. That, or we’re coming close to the source/most active area.
So far we’ve got more than one reference to Primordus, plus a flat out confirmation from Taimi. Considering he’s an underground dragon he can be anywhere. A volcano is a logical place to think of for finding Primordus, or entrances into subterranean territories. However, at the moment we’re moving towards the coast and seemingly way past Mount Maelstrom, in a rather straight line from northeast to southwest. If that line continues we’ll end up in Southsun Cove for the last location. Draw the line even further and you go straight to The Grove, and then much further away, the Ring of Fire. As a volcanic region that is also a logical place to find Primordus, or entrances into his domain. It’s also close to the Unending Ocean. Considering the " one dragon for each expansion" routine seems rather boring and predictable, it would be really cool if what they’re building up is not one but two active dragons we have to contend with; dragons who are also probably contending with each other (remember, they’re rivals, not allies; in this case the enemy of my enemy is most definitely not my friend). The two dragons at the same time theory has already been suggested by other people as well, and it would be a cool way to up the ante for our newformed Dragon’s Watch guild.
I do like your idea of a Megadestroyer overhaul, and ANet does seem to like their overhauls (Tequatl, the Shatterer, Fractals). It could still happen, even though we don’t seem to go to Mount Maelstrom (unless the trail suddenly bends off towards the southeast after Bloodtide Coast). Destroyers are Primordus’ minions, after all, and trying to divide us by surfacing in one place and having his minions ravaging other parts of the world does seem like a good tactic. Mordremoth did something similar but on a much smaller scale. His greatest minions (Vinewrath, Shadow of the Dragon) are all relatively close to his jungle domain, but Mount Maelstrom and the Ring of Fire are literally halfway across the world from each other.
Episode 2 will most likely hit in October, since that’s the next quarter and 3 months after the last quarterly patch. I’m thinking more towards 6 weeks instead of 4, perhaps a bit longer (end of October) and coupled with the Halloween festival. We’ll see eventually, and these theories don’t take anything regarding Caudecus and the White Mantle into regard, or Lazarus for that matter. Since they’ve set that up with Episode 1 I doubt they’ll suddenly ignore that. Lazarus might even be a dubious ally for us in that he’s also interested in fighting the Elder Dragons to obtain the magic they stored for himself. He mentions his " more virtuous pursuits", but his idea of virtuous might be very twisted. He does say the human seat of power and the current monarch are inconsequential. Inconsequential to his current pursuits, most likely, but this remark might hold greater meaning in that the human race (or the other races, for that matter) in general is entirely inconsequential to him, but he chose not to express it that way to not seem too aggressive, as a deception to his true motives (which I doubt are as virtuous to Tyria and its peoples as they are to himself). A deal with the devil would be a nice story twist and certainly not what most people would have expected from the return of the last Mursaat. And that’s saying nothing about what the return of Lazarus will do to Caudecus and his plans. He doesn’t seem very stable, to put it mildly, and this might bring him closer to despair. And the White Mantle is already divided in two factions, one following Caudecus and one working to bring back Lazarus. Caudecus’ plight is clearly nothing more than a power struggle for control over Kryta. Lazarus seems to have a grander plan in mind and calls it virtuous, which might even seduce some who are for the moment still following Caudecus. I mean, who doesn’t want to make the world a better place? Never mind what’s right or wrong, because to every man and woman his or her perspective is the right one.
Well . . . seems Seis is already in the next area . . . so that theory is a bust . . . unless they release the next episode earlier than anyone thought. . . .
It does throw a wrench into the idea that Seis will lead directly into Ep. 2. But its still possible that Seis will lead into another current event (which will happen next week probably, if Seis keeps moving every couple of days) which will in turn lead into Ep. 2, which could still end up being a 3 week period.
My guess is the last zone will be Mount Maelstrom. It seems that all the maps are connected by a portal so Sparkfly Fen is likely next. I don’t think it would go toward Orr and Mount Maelstrom does open up the possibility of going into Deldrimor Front.
With Primodus being the next dragon, it makes sense that anything involving the dwarves may be a part of it. The Great Destroyer is also down there so you’d think Primordus would be somewhere around there rather than all the way up north. I could also be wrong and Anet is planning on revamping the Great Destroyer boss meta like with Shatterer.

Claw Island. Destroyers will emerge on island. Piece of land surrounded by water. To attack LA they will build stone bridge. Port of LA will be closed by ‘natural’ obstacle.
So it is finaly time for sigils that burn. Playing tengu and stone dwarens.
The tremors seem to be going west as well as south, I’d expect the final map to be either Southsun or possibly Sparkfly.

Well the final map is Southsun or at least for the achievement.
Watch it be the return of the Ancient Karka.
Don’t talk about that… it brings back bad, laggy memories

If you draw a line along the map through the sensor zones (zones, not Seis’ wp), the Ring of Fire is dead ahead after Southsun, as TheNecrosanct noted. I’m not a GW1 player so I get no particular frisson from that beyond cool-new-map-possible.
Though of course they could just finalize things in Southsun, giving it a makeover to revitalize interest in the map (if they do, would they keep old Southsun for the Survival instance?).
Could whatever that is underground be following the leylines?

There’s likely a better map as I just pulled the first one that I saw.

That’s a highly theoretical map from a long long ago that got rather debunked.
And was wrong from the get go anyways given the DSD is not even on Central Tyria let alone under Southsun. xD
Primordus wouldn’t need to follow ley lines though since it could just create its tunnels (as is the lore for what he’s been doing the past 200 years – moving about Tyria to clear out tracks of land and send destroyers across the undergrounds personally). That, of course, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have to – but I think if it was, it would have gone under LA – ley line nexus and all that.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Well, if P is creating all these subterranean tunnels…. will LA’s next misfortune be to fall into a giant sinkhole?
Between Southsun and the Ring of Fire, I personally prefer the latter.
I’m not completely clear on GW1 lore, but wasn’t that where the 1st bloodstone was located? Was it destroyed during Prophecies?
One interesting thing I found about Ring of Fire while poking around the GW1 wiki is that it was a center of Mursaat activity, where they tried to seal and guard a portal leading to Abaddon’s Realm of Torment (specifically, the Foundry of Failed Creations that created the Titans).
Since LS3 has a Mursaat as a major focus now, that might be significant.

The keystone was in a volcano that erupted, but it probably survived (since the island chain still exists and isn’t an enormous crater).
And since that bloodstone was just as close to Mordremoth as the one in Bloodstone Fen (and much closer to where Zhaitan was), it probably has plenty of magic to absorb.

Spoiler alert if you haven’t played The Ruined City of Arah explorable dungeon paths. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bloodstone
In short: yes, one part of the original bloodstone fell back into the caldera when it exploded. The other parts were flung far across Tyria, with the locations of 2 of them still unknown.

There’s one in Straits of Devastation, Bloodstone Fen, Arah, in Ring of Fire, and one other location. The first bloodstone that the player would have run into would have been the one in Bloodstone Fen. None of them were destroyed from what I remember.

How do you come by these locations? Bloodstone Fen is the one in the Maguuma Jungle. There’s one in the Bloodstone Caves in the Shiverpeaks. Then there’s the one that is still in the Ring of Fire. But Straits of Devastation and Arah? The original bloodstone was in Arah, yes. But after it was split in 5 pieces it was thrown into the volcano in the Ring of Fire. Then that exploded and they got scattered across the world, with only the locations of 3 known.
