I do. You know with no cliches, bad humour and general childish antics. Perhaps a permanent explorable area which doesn’t feel like an empty and pointless place to explore like Sunset Cove did. Or perhaps change it up a bit so the living story instances are event quests in the world with hundreds of people… I just feel since launch that GW2 has become very stale and unimaginative in the way that updates are coming to us apart from the Super Adventure Box but that is a whole game in itself let’s be honest.

I want to see a quality story in an expansion, or maybe I just want an expansion instead of a new set of bugs with a to-do list. If you look at the personal story, it’s really not that engaging either so I’m a little uncertain that a quality story can happen. I would like for them to try again though maybe they can make one, 3rd time’s the charm.

I’ve liked the story arch thus far. It’s been entertaining. Is it award winning? Nah. My expectations for video games isn’t that high though. I play for cheap thrills. Final Fantasy 7 had a good storyline and it was a good game. Toejam and Earl had a crap story line, but yet it still was a good game.

I want to see one just like Kieran Thackeray and Gwen’s wedding from GW1. IMO, that set of missions was perfect for a free small content update. It was fun and it gave more life to the characters.

There’s a lot of other threads for that. You’re not helping and only making it worse.

The forum is a discussion, and not everyone has the same opinion as you. We are free to make threads. It is the job of the Mods to merge them if appropriate. We aren’t easily amused by transient fluff and want more from our games. The forum is a place where we are allowed to voice our concerns.

So before you start pointing out what other people want and then dictate whether it’s ok to express that or not you should realize you have some of those wants too.

On the other hand, I expect what I consider a quality story arc would inevitably get people calling it crap or badly done. Why? I watched Lost and Fringe and consider the story arcs in those two series to be very interesting and of quality.

“quality story arch” is a very undefined thing, and very subjective.
I for one can find somethings really good while other find it worthless and so on.

Personally I think the living story is more than good enough for a MMO while it is clear from these forums that loads of people dislike it quite a bit.

There is not a single story released that does not have cliches in one way or another.

Despite the universal panning of the Scarlet arc, Anet still seems to like it. They are unable to tell good stories from bad and thus it’s very unlikely we’ll be seeing good stories for the foreseeable future.

Let’s be fair, there are very few people who can tell good stories from bad anymore so long as it’s appealing to look at or otherwise entertaining. It’s the only reason I can think of a certain movie franchise even existed let alone became a monster at the box office.
