Whole Maguuma Jungle?
At the rate they’re going, possibly one more map for the season.
I don’t think we will see the whole jungle opened up but more zones certainly.
I’d say we’ll at least get Magus Falls, since that’s where Mordremoth is believed to have been resting.
If speculation about the Bloodstones is actually valid, maybe something will happen in Bloodstone Fen?

Hopefully they’ll make the area count towards Maguuma kills too.
I think they will definitely finish the Dry Top map but not more. We have currently access to an area that is roughly a quarter of Brisban Wildlands. If the mid-season break which is coming after the story-chapter on August 12th (after Dragon’s Reach Part 2) literally means “mid-season”, then there won’t be time for more maps.
In my opinion Season 2 is all about being Mordremoth on the offensive and us on the defensive. This is a neccessary step in storytelling. They have to make him feel dangerous and capable of destruction, hence the spreading of the vines and destroying of important forts (Concordia, Salma). After we’re emotionally invested the tables will turn and Season 3 will be about us on the offensive and Mordremoth on the defensive. This might be a good time to open up the Maguuma Jungle and take the fight to his homeland.
From what i’ve read, this is the last LS story thingy, after which we will enter a break in which we will receive copy-paste events from previous years that have almost nothing changed and are boring as hell….maybe a few utility patches also.
After that the LS will continue. Would be nice to get whole of maguuma but i don’t think ANet has the balls to actually give us consistent content for free. I don’t mind paying for releasing major sections of the global map…but having no word on the subject is discouraging.
My guess is that LS2 ends right before the holiday events start around October. We may get more map portions in that timeframe. After the holidays, we maybe February/March, we get LS3 and open up more.

No, after todays update (Dragon’s Reach Part 1) there will be another one on August 12th (Dragon’s Reach Part 2). The mid-season break will occur on August 26th.
Ah yea my bad. For some reason i thought the current one was Part 1. You are right.

Where is this information about the break of the season
It’s from some interviews with anet (can’t remember the links) about 2 weeks ago or so.

lol the second season has barely begun and already have a break? because that, I remember that the lands of the first season was after Christmas
guessing this is the next area that opens up.
Seems only to lack npc’s and other assets that can be interacted with, only speculating here tho
Id like to think the entire Jungle will be open by the end of S2, because lets be honest, Anet can only drag out the no new zones for so long, before people wont come back to see the next update, ive had more friends quit this game in the last 2 months than I have in the last 12.
Dry Top is a step in the right direction, but hopefully sooner we will see zones that do not have the sand storm.
I really hope so. It would mean going ahead that we could finally open up our world map with new areas (Isles of Janthir, Deldrimore Front, Blazeridge, Crystal Desert, etcetera).
Unless the wording for the “mid-season break” coming after the 4th episode is just a generalization and doesn’t means “exactly in the middle” like it implies, then we’d be having 8 episodes. Given that, I can only see a max of 2 maps that are Southsun Cove size (which is where Dry Top will reach with one more area of it released).
If this is true, not only would Season 2 be dreadfully short, but I’d find it a bit lackluster if we end up killing Mordremoth during it, given the current pace of the first two episodes. Season 1 was – if we count Flame and Frost as a single update – 18 releases long excluding any preludes, aftermaths, and holidays (though each had about half the amount of content that S2 episodes do – if not less like in Tequatl Rising’s case). I’d hope that Season 2 would be at least 12 episodes long. Which, if so, would mean 2 breaks. However, I think 16 episodes/releases would be better – thus 3 breaks with the 4-break-4 system.
Hopefully, the wording is just a generalization.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
