Why Anet abandon content?
This is the fallout of the multiple Living World Dev Teams which they ended up combining into one team entirely. Because otherwise content was all over the place, disjointed, and convoluted. In trying to maintain a cohesive narrative, they made one team dedicated entirely to the Living World. It’s unfortunate but maybe it’ll be touched upon in the future.
I don’t understand this.
First they give us guild missions, and said: “we will add more missions and even more mission types”. I though this would be amazing! new missions from time to time? Always something to do with guild!
They added 2 new puzzles and a few bounty targets in the next patch then nothing for more then a year? They give us fractals, and said: “this is perfect platform for us to add more fractals, tell more story etc” I though this is amazing! New dungeon every month or something?
And they give us 1 new fractal after a year ( and 2 as a bonus from LS)They give us PvP tracks, and said: we will add more, PvE gets something PvP will get new track too with new PvE rewards!
No new track added. They said: we will add more skills! (we even add skill points in chmp bags so you have skill points to spend on this new skills! ) I though that this will be more then amazing! New skill every month? New build? New fun.
They added 1 new healing skill…This is sad
I think if you objectively analyze the release timeline you are talking about, the answer to your rant is actually there: it takes time to work on these changes and patches. I recall a developer mentioning that it takes about 6 months work of time to produce a new map. (This was in a discussion for more WvW maps.) As the history of these patches might suggest, the Arena Net team doesn’t necessarily have the capacity to release a huge slew of major changes every month. It’s not that they’re ignoring content or “abandoning” content as your post title suggests. It’s simply: it takes time.
Now, whether or not it’s taking “too much time” is open to debate. Personally, I think most players who have been playing this game since release share your feelings. (Myself included.) The game itself has become very stagnant, and it’s hard to stay involved and excited without regular updates as most of us have already finished the storyline and other major components of the game.
I’m happy that Arena Net has no monthly fee and that it continues to produce regular updates to the game, but I’m also not sure if the amount of content & updates being rolled out is enough to keep the GW2 community interested. I am, however, really happy to see new maps being added to the pve world.
Whatever the solution needs to be, I hope Arena Net decides to start upping its level on how much content gets released regularly. If the answer is that they need to hire more staff, I hope they do that. If they need more money so we can have an entirely new array of PvE worlds and even WvW maps, then sell us an expansion (like how GW1 worked).

I’d have to agree with the OP. The point of having multiple dedicated teams, each with their own focus is to ensure that each facet of the game gets proper attention.
I assume they still have a bug fix team, but alas each new patch only brings tooltip fixes.
I assume they’ve got a dungeon/fractal team but alas, we’ve gotten 1 new fractal and 1 new dungeon path in over a year (and fractal re-treeing).
I assume they’ve got a balance/skills team but we’ve gotten a single profession-specific heal skill, 1 global heal skill (which was living story specific), and single GM trait per tree (though many would argue most were not well thought-out).
I assume they’ve still got a forum team but alas, CDIs came and went. They were left incomplete, and I don’t know if anything discussed in them was ever implemented. And we see fewer and fewer red posts on the forums than ever before.
But we all know for sure they’ve got a Living Story team, because each new patch brings nothing but.
What are the other teams doing?

thats my point, I love new map. I am more then happy it is permanent too. But why not add new guild lama rush or at least 1 new bounty target on this new map? It feels like they forgeting about other aspect of the game.
I dont play PvP much myself but they should add DRY TOP track – with piles of sand or nopale here and there and big boxes with geodes? That cant be that difficult.
I know what big things like GvG, housing, cantha, new dungeons take lots of time to develop. I would love to have them but I know we wont get them any time soon.
But small addition to the game other then gem shop items and Living world (I dont mind them) would be nice from time to time.

Dungeon team was disbanded over a year ago. Team leader no longer works at Anet.
What about WvW?
Hahahahahahahaha…
