Hello Everyone,

I just thought I’d put out the question of what was the reason for Living World being fortnightly updates?
also
Would Living World benefit from moving to 3 week patches or maybe once a month? – giving more time to iron out creases, fill plot/lore holes and create an over all larger content patch. Maybe this could also free up some resources to attend to other aspects of the game too (PvE/dungeons/Zhaitan*cough*…..pvp and wvw get enough attention ;P)

Note: I’m not putting LW down, I am happy with season 2 and found it very fun.

I think a 3 – 4 week release schedule would be better too (for all the reasons you mentioned), but the call is up to ANet.

I like the fortnightly schedule because it keeps me interested in the story and I don’t feel like I am getting bored of waiting for the next update, so I personally think that changing it to monthly releases would be disappointing, but I see why people would want it if they want to have a perfect storyline, though I think the storytelling is still fantastic as it is.

The LS actually started out as a monthly thing, however, after 3 months ANet decided to go for the fortnightly basis for a variety of reasons. A couple of those reasons were that releasing content each month would end up defeating the point of a “Living, Breathing World”, and by that time they started getting the hang of things internally(team structure wise), so they started doing things in rotations, and each sub-team would have around 3-4 months to develop a certain LS chapter. It would be nice for the current fortnightly content patches to be bigger, but I’m hopeful that as they get the hang of the way the Dynamic Events System works, and as they better understand the limitations the engine has etc they’ll also begin to produce content faster, and thus making the fortnightly patches be somewhat “Meatier” or longer.. Either way, I’m quite happy with the current system
