Why no Risen?
Only because Orr and the Fire Islands are close doesnt mean Zhaitan would send his troops there. So why would there be leftovers?
Don’t the Risen have to be risen out of dead people? What people have been living there all this time to have risen come from them? I guess he could have had them swim over but for what purpose. It was essentially an empty land. What would he gain from it?
ANet may give it to you.
Due to the climate of that region, Primodious should have a greater influence there. Even in core Tyria, risen wasn’t in the hotter sectors of the map like Mt. Maelstrom’s volcano or Fireheart Rise. Most of Zhaitans minions where within swamps, marshes, and wetlands.
Why should Zhaitan send his Risen to a Place thats completely hostile and has nothing to offer to him?

In the context of LS3, Zhaitan is dead — the only risen are the ones left in Orr (which is essentially stuck in time, lorewise, contemporaneous with the fight against Zhaitan).
Because after Orr the players are bloody sick of fighting Risen.

The no-prize answer I’d go with is that there were Risen years ago, but after Zhaitan died they all got eaten by Mordrem and Destroyers.

Actually, the Movement of the World says the following:
Many of the corsairs who inhabited the island chain before the peninsula rose again were subsumed by the dragon’s power, twisted by its breath, and enslaved to its will. Ships with black sails, built from seized corsair vessels, sail along the Strait of Malchor, west of Orr. These vessels surround the Fire Islands, manned by undead minions of the dragon that fear neither fire nor sea.

Dragons can’t access the Magic in the Bloodstones. They ( or it, since it was one Bloodstone at first ) were made to seal Magic off from the Elder Dragons.
Surely the risen are all wiped out by now, it’s been years since Zhaitan’s death. I get there are still lots of risen in Orr because each zone is frozen in time, but I don’t expect to see risen in any of the new zones. Unless the other dragon start making them using Zhaitan’s Death powers.

There’s a bloodstone in Arah (you run into it at the end of path 4 of the dungeon) and he mostly left it alone.

That is not a bloodstone. It was in Arah that they split the original bloodstone into 5 pieces and locked magic inside those pieces so the Elder Dragons couldn’t get to it. Whenever you break a stone or jewel into pieces, small shards will come off. That’s what you find at the end of Arah p4: little shards of the bloodstone, but by no means a fullf-fledged bloodstone.

Parroting each other doesn’t make either of you correct. The bloodstone did not “lock away” magic (and that may not even be possible as wards would be magical in nature and they consume magic), they hid away uncorrupted magic. As far as game sources give us, they can access the magic and is why Primordus moved from the Central Transfer Chamber all the way to the Fire Islands.

Sorry but the Bloodstone IS locking away Magic, not just hiding it. To access it you need a Bunch of Seer Artifacts. And as far as I know the Game Sources don’t tell us that the Elder Dragons have Access to it.
Yeah sorry, they go on quite a bit about the whole point of the bloodstones was to keep the magic away from the dragons. It’s still possible that it might not work right, but if it didn’t it seems like that would have been one of Zhaitan’s first trips as soon as he learned about it, cause he definitely knew all about it.
Also, Risen don’t crop up in swamps. Swamps crop up around risen.

That seems like a conclusive answer, then. Zhaitan made a bunch of Risen there, but then had them sail elsewhere for things like the attack on Lion’s Arch.

That entire area is a landmass that spent hundreds of years underwater. They may have become swamps in the future, but for now are just rocks with dying sea creatures on them. Everywhere the Risen go, outside of there, however, decays as a result of their presence and becomes swamp land.

There is no source which states they lock away magic, only that the seers hid uncorruped versions of it. Also you do not need seer artifacts to access the stones. The white mantle just tampered with one and managed to create supercharged humans (Matthias) and the Mursaat accessed the one in the Fire Islands to seal the Door of Komalie.

See, This is why I hate Anet. They just love to retcon things. Before GW2 was a thing, The bloodstones just sealed away magic to prevent the humanoid races of Tyria from going crazy with it. Or something…It’s been a long time since I actually cared about the lore in GW.
Also, I thought the original bloodstone was housed in the fire islands, where it was blown into 5 pieces by a massive eruption, which scattered the pieces throughout Tyria.

Nope that was never the case. The gw1 manual stated only that they gods used the bloodstone together the magic back from the races then split it and tossed the piece in Abaddons mouth. And after a while an eruption caused the the bloodstone pieces to be scattered around tyria.

The main, big daddy bloodstone was created when King Doric asked the Gods to take away all of the magic that was given to the races of Tyria. After it was created, it was broken into 5 pieces. The pieces were then thrown into Abbadon’s Mouth (the big volcano where we fought the Undead Lich in Prophecies), which later erupted, scattering the pieces all over the place.
I think the stuff about the Seers creating the bloodstone was retconned, But I don’t think they really added in too much stuff that wasn’t already there from GW1. Other than the whole “Abbadon did it all” retconning that happened with Nightfall, of course.
Does it actually say the Gods created the Bloodstones? It’s possible that the Seers made the stone, and since the Gods were aware of it, they used it for the specific purpose it was made, to suck up and store magic indefinitely.

Because Zhaitan is dead. Rather, you have “risen” in the form of destroyer minions now.
Technically, Primordus and the remaining elder dragons can now use the death magic spectrum of magic and make their own version of “risen” from the dead.
This isn’t outstanding for Jormag or Kralkatorrik because they were already capable of corrupting life into their minions, but it is a new thing for Primordus (was also a new thing for Mordremoth) who previously only imitated things through it’s molten creations.
There are remnants of the traditional risen, such as Tequatl in mainland Tyria and the remnants in Orr, but they are a dying breed.
So to speak.

No, it is quite directly stated that he moved there because it was basically in the middle of places where two elder dragons died and by this closest best place to soak up the leftover magic from their corpses
paying attention to dialogue lines in the new living story episodes is quite a good thing to do actually :P
[and in current season of living story there is exacly one blood stone mentioned and it is the one that was blown out in previous season – the bloodstone from ring of fire islands has not been mentioned even once]
also by the every piece of lore we have on bloodsone themselves is that the ywere created to get the magic out of peoples hand and that they could be used to soak up “energy” in form of folks souls
we can also assume that they may be somehow connected as slaughterfest on maguuma bloodstone was somehow powering up the bareer that was plugged to bloodstone on ring of fire islands…..
also curiously one may ask for a reason why mordemoth was not interested in maguuma bloodstone at all while in search of magical artifacts to eat he reached literally on the other side of tyria….
