I’ve seen it said 45,000 people died in LA. LA was also the economic hub of the continent. Smaller disasters in the modern real world (Katrina, 9-11, etc) have been enough to wreck international finances.

(It’s a bit sad that DR dialogues still include lines like “The caravan from Lion’s Arch is late.”)

So are we heading into a Great Depression?

mmh u suggest that continent will fall in depression? mmh Divinity is more rich and others cities yet. A real problem isn’t this but, i think, departure beetwin races and we don’t must forget a real manace: possible elder dragon.
If Scarlet awakens Mordremorth, the losses among people will be millions..

Meh, we all know that the real drivers of the economy are us adventurers who go out and harvest all the raw materials for the artisans (who are also players). As long as the BLTC (or a rival like the Consortium) remains in business so we can continue trading, I think the Tyrian economy will be just fine.

Well, when they add in the Consortium Trading Post I’ll consider shopping there but as long as the Black Lion has a monopoly on trade, I guess I’ll have to stick with them…
The near perpetual inflation syndrome that the Tyrian economy has isn’t very adventurer friendly though.

LA is the economic hub because it is where adventurers flock to, it’s a trading port, and it is the home of the BLTC.

Evon is still alive so the BLTC isn’t going anywhere. All of the adventurers are still alive, so their trade isn’t going anywhere. And Rata Sum has a perfectly functional port, as well as Asura Gate to all of the major cities.

So I don’t think the economy should be adversely effected. Also it’s a game and games don’t tend to go for that kind of depth. So everything will be fine and dandy xD.
