Zepherite favor level in Dry Top
I’m allowing I may be being incredibly dense about this, I’m about 2 months into this game so it wouldn’t surprise me if I’m looking right past the info I’m confused about.
you can increase favours inbetween sandstorms. When a sandstorm hits, it’s then locked in that favour til the duration of the sandstorm.
At the end of the storm it resets back to 1.
I frequently see favours reach number 3, have yet to as see 4, but haven’t tried joining into a t4 map either.(via the lfg tool.)
All it is, is cheaper rewards anyway.
What am I missing?
AFAIK it works this way:
- For the first 40 calm minutes in the hour, you can help Zephyrites and get to tier 4.
- For the next 20 sandstorm minutes in the hour, you can still buy things from merchants but not increase the favor.
- On the hour, everything resets.
I’ve turned up in T4 maps multiple times naturally. All it takes is a commander to lead people to the events when they appear and finish them rapidly. You can ask for a taxi in LFG to T4 map, though, as some people are kind enough to provide it to others.
ah, thanks for the clarification all, now it makes more sense!
I do see some difference between the merchant levels, there appear to be more cactus recipes than on the gold+geodes tab.
Yep. As the Favor goes up, more items become available, and the cost in Geodes for some items goes down.
Tier 1 – Only lockpicks available.
Tier 2 – Lockpicks and most recipes available.
Tier 3 – More Chef recipes available.
Tier 4 – Cheaper Geode cost for most recipes.
The major benefit of getting the Favor up is because the Geode reward for completing events also goes up. If your map can get to Tier 4, each completed event during the Sandstorm gives you 10 Geodes.

You also get 1 additional champion to kill during the sandstorm for every tier you complete (from 2-4).
Tier 2 gives you Devourer Queen
Tier 3 gives you Dust Twister
Tier 4 gives you Dust Monster
