2) Do a thing.
3) Receive geodes.

How many geodudes you get, depends on the effort you are willing to put into. The basic formula for getting geodudes is:
- You get tier + 1 for each event when the Sandstorm is NOT on
- You get 2 x tier + 2 for each event during Sandstorm

So you get most geodudes during the Sandstorm, but you must work for getting to a higher tier to get the best results. If I were just beginning to farm, I would choose one of the following methods:

Good guy method (in steps):
Step1: Learn the events mostly (this is easily done by going on the reddit page and/or doing them a few times)
Step2: Participate in events
Step3: Lead events
Step4: Coordinate with your friends/guildies/communites to do tier6 maps for best results

Evil method (leecher method):
Step1: Get into a map only during Sandstorm, and leech events

If you are from EU, we on WSR organize t6 weekly, and gw2community does t6 every 2-3 days. Can give you more info if you want.

As for scope, doing a full t6 run will get you around… counting… plus those… minus that… 200 to 230 geodudes.

Most severs get up to T4 so during the sandstorm you get about 10 per event.
During the sandstorm do: mites, haze, devourer queen, mites, haze, twister, skritt queen (depending on the speed at which you do twister). If you’re lucky you might even get Skritt Burglar. So that’s about 70-80 geodes for 20 minutes or so.

Although it would be very nice of you to help get the server up to T4 by completing out of the way events.

Yeah, Cure’s got the rotation for best geode collection (as far as I can tell). You can get Skritt Burglar during either the first Haze or before the first Devours fight, depending on where it spawns, but there’s a decent chance some foolish or mean player will spawn it before the rest of the group gets there.

If you don’t know where these events take place, there is almost always a Commander or ten running around with the zerg, just follow them. Dust Mites starts in an area underneath the jumping puzzle though, at about half the height of the map.

One other thing to note, if the map you’re on is particularly uncoordinated, they may not be able to get Skritt Queen in time. If so, then for maximum efficiency you might want to go for the Chickenado that spawns across the top of the map, that one tends to be easier for a few random people to pull off.

And yes, fun the first 40 minutes too if you can, you will get a decent amount of geodes that way. Even if your run caps out at T4, if you run the Prospect Valley circuit they will get up to 45 geodes in total or so, if you clear race→moa→toad→Queen→Town-Repeat each time. If you’re part of a T6 run that’s maxing out their options, you’d probably get 20 more geodes over the first half, and then 112 for the run, but T6 runs are super rare lately.
