I assume it’s for clipping reasons :S? there’s a pretty high chance your characters arms and legs would be going through the backpiece, especially the karka shell :P

Oh absolutely. But I’m sure that’t still the reason xD.
1. Start dancing.
2. Open Hero panel.
3. Unequip back item/weapon
4. Re-equip it, watch it appear on your character during emote
5. … Profit?
(It will look silly with greatswords and so, you’ll be slashing yourself depending on emotes)
