@ the 0:38 of the LSep.2 trailer video is a big butt dragon looking at an asura(main character avatar i’m assuming)…..could it be the big bad fire dragon~Primordus????

Also at 0:35 there is a big bad boss walking in slow-mo, i’m guessing that is the molten dominator champion that we are told in third party interviews.

There is something called a Molten Dominator on the islands. That could be it.

I just hope he is an ACTUAL DRAGON.
You know, a huge lizard with wings.

I really did not like what they did with Mordremoth. “The jungle is the dragon”, “we have to fight his mind”. And in the last battle we fight a large head on a tentacle…

I don’t want this with Primordus. I don’t want him to be a volcano or a river of lava. I want him to be a gigantic and terrifying monster with wings, like Zaithan was.

When I first read about the Elder Dragons they were described as being as big as mountain ranges. Zaithan.. well, he was kinda big, I guess. As for terrifying… uhm…

I secretly hope we discover that the ring of fire IS primordius. That is, that the islands are the tips of spikes on his back and the earthquakes are just him stretching. I know it wouldn’t quite fit in with the image of Primordus moving around under Tyria ..but darn would it be impressive.

Granted, that’s when he was dormant but ya….

I doubt it will be a very different concept… at that time mark…. it looks like a modified Veteran Stonehead:

the picture of Primordus in gw1 does not automatically make him look similar to what he will look like in gw2. Take the charr for example, they were taller and larger to humans(compared to gw2) and not all of them are hunchbacks in gw1, like there are now in gw2.

I do hope we don’t get anymore dragons like mordremoth who wasn’t apparently a dragon….they are called elder dragons because they have to look the part….otherwise just call them something else.

Maybe it is the Molten Dominator, or maybe the one in 0:35 as i mentioned in the original post is. The close-up cutscene with the little asura makes him look huge, and no world bosses have cutscenes….It could be just a champion of Primordus….just as the Shadow of the Dragon was a champion of Mordremoth….

The close up cutscene is closer to the Heart of Thorns release trailer where Rytlock and friends(joke) saw the Mouth of Mordremoth rising from ground, but it could just be another champion in the next living story episode….

Though i like the idea that Primordus would be a more personal experience to us as an enemy much like the enemies in gw1(Undead Lich, Shiro…), instead of hanging back and meeting him once and killing him soon after like the tragedy of Zhaitan, which still has kept a bad taste on me and lowered my expectations for the next Elder dragons(Mordremoth got a better and more personal story line….but was WAYYYYYYYYYY too short, and could still be improved a lot).

….
So you’re saying that the Charr in GW1 and GW2 look nothing alike and if you were to hold a screenshot of the two from both games side by side… a reasonable person would never tell they were the same thing?

Maybe that was a horrible example on your part?

What i was getting at, is that Primordus is an Elder Dragon we have CLEARLY seen in Guild Wars 1. His general shape is confirmed. Please note how i said general shape.

Now take that general shape and compare it to what the OP said.

Do you see the issue?

Unlike the other Elder Dragons, Primordus is sort of a clean cut case.

What we know:
-He has a traditional dragon design
-Magic flows out of him, since the asura liked to play with him

Now you’re right, Anet could <—- COULD say F the player base, Guild Wars 1 never existed. Primordus is now a shark who’s electric blue and sings My Little Pony.

But come on…

I never said they don’t look nothing alike….read carefully before you rage on me. It wasn’t a horrible example either, your just making up words i did not mention.

Simply put, just because anet made a character in gw1 look 1 way, does not automatically make him look the same or super close to his look in gw2. The charr looked different, they shared similarities, but over the course of gw1 and gw2, they changed in stature, size, and imo ferocity. 2nd example, Justiciar Hablion in gw1 looks nothing, even in ghost form…..looks nothing at all like he is in gw2, 4foxsake he wasn’t even voiced by Steve Bloom aka Rytlock who voiced him in gw1, dmn anet….

Anet may change the look of Primordus, they may not, don’t be surprised, just accept it when they are finally ready to show him/her/it to us, since none of us can do anything about it. I hated how mordremoth looks since he didn’t look 1 bit a dragon of my ideals, but oh well life moves on…..until then don’t assume he will look the same. And less rage on your replies, thx.

I’m pretty sure that beasty in the trailer is a Stonehead with a different colouration. Maybe a Fire Island special variant.
Also a point to note about Mordremoth not being a dragon that I thought was pretty clear is that he was in fact a dragon at one point. The “Mouth” as it is called is merely what is left of his draconic body, the head. He sacrificed his form to become the jungle, to become everything. I mean think of how often he proclaims that with pride, “I am everything, I am everywhere.”
The head could quite easily fit on a dragon’s body. I think all of the Elder Dragons were just dragons once…then something happened, maybe they went magic mad like the people affected by the raw magic from the bloodstone?
As to what kind of dragon? Well the earlier concept art of a plant Elder Dragon showed Mordremoth as looking a bit in the head like Guild Wars’s old Dragon moss. Even the final version of the Mouth is similar in some ways.
At one point a skritt in the battle for Tarir calls him Mordremoss. Perhaps a hint as to what kind of dragon he was before he got super powered?

For the love of the high damage, high mobility, glass cannon. Thief to the bitter end.

Zhaitan was a dragon, so is Kralkatorrik in the book and Primordus in gw1. I hope the same thing is true for Jormag and Bubbles. I don’t want to fight a landmass, or a forest or a mountain range. I want to fight elder dragons.

We’ve been pretty close to Primordus, in the Central Transfer Chamber. How the hell is he supposed to be in two places at once?

You misread. It’s that Kralkatorrik – and only Kralkatorrik – was mistaken as a single mountain because dirt and vegetation had overgrown them in the thousands of years they slept.

Primordus was thought to be a (large) statue. Zhaitan, Jormag, Mordremoth, and the DSD are best as we know never seen until they woke.

We saw Primordus in GW1. He was nowhere near the Ring of Fire – he was in the Central Transfer Chamber, underground. Also, Primordus has been awake and moving across Tyria underground for the past 200 years. He’s probably one of the smallest Elder Dragons given that he’s underground and all, and compared to Kralkatorrik he is most definitely tiny (we saw only a portion of Kralkatorrik’s back and it was stupidly larger than Primordus’ head-to-shoulders).

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
