Desolation – Mistress of significance level
I like this living story appoach and I think it keeps things interesting. My main problem is that the whole projects seems like an incredeble waste of resources. You make an event, the event passes all the content is lost for those who wasn’t there or are fresh to the game.
I realized this because I had to take a rather long break for real live reasons and just missed out on quite a few things, which – I think – is totally fine by the way. But my client was updating quite a lot and thought: “well, there surely did a lot of things” and than realized: Not much has changed. Yes, there are a few more waypoints in the game, there are settlements from the refugees and the coolest thing are the changes in Southsun Cove. But I am still not entirely sure what exactly happend to the refugees etc.
So we have this world that moves forward and changes the face of the world, but it is hard to follow up on the history. So I think it would be a nice idea to change the personal story so that when you killed Zhaitan, the living story that has passed becomes available as personal story so that you can relive those past events and reach the point in time were Tyria currenly is. Obviously the content need a few tweaks and the archivements should be for those people who participated in those events.
I hope this all makes sense, and that you will consider this. Because I really would like to play though these stories that you created to understand what is currently going on.
