Just thought I’d post this for people who might have missed it.

The first screenshot shows the dialogue between the Commander and Taimi. They are as clueless as to why Balthazar needs to absorb worldly magic as we are. The fact that this dialogue is in there to me is proof that it will be explained in detail soon and will be a major part of the story (in episode 6 or in the expansion).

The second screenshot is the one between the Commander and Marjory. The latter is as shocked about Kasmeer’s out-of-character behavior as we were when we first played the episode. Many posted they find this behavior intolerable — and I agree. I don’t like seeing Kasmeer being turned into a coward (oh, and for the record, I can’t take her annoying hiccups anymore!). The devs will have to come up with an especially good excuse for that. In any case, this dialogue (as the previous one) to me is solid proof that the Gods will be the major topic in the upcoming expansion, not the dragons — what a relief! (Unless there is something to my theory after all. )

Another attempt of explaining Kasmeer’s weird reaction when you talk again to Taimi after the last mission of ep. 5.

I like Kas…but someone needs to say to her, “Suck it up, buttercup. Nobody promised you were going to live forever. You’re either part of the team – and that means having my back and doing what’s right even when its certain death – or you’re dead weight. We live in a violent world filled with things trying to kill us every moment of every day. Suck it up and spit in their eye, or die on your knees. Your choice.”

As my last screenshot shows, the devs are trying to convince us that she ran because she was awestruck by the presence of a god, not out of fear.

Either way, that was a totally lame, out-of-character thing to do. Kas would have never left a wounded Jory, not even for the presence of one of her human gods. It was badly written, that much is for certain.

Anyway, looking forward to a god-driven expansion campaign.

I agree with Kaltyn actually. Kasmeer is too wishy-washy to be part of a guild that is writing the history of Tyria. Take a moment to ponder everything this band of adventurers has done. Now look at Kasmeer… really? She needs to toughen up. I’m not asking to turn her into someone as tough as Spearmarshal Kormir or Varesh Ossa, but also not the mess that she is right now.

Also, I don’t think that was out of character for her. I think anyone with faith in the Six would have had the same reaction she did. We’re talking about an actual god here. A god physically revealed himself for the first time in hundreds of years in front of one his believers. Honestly I’m surprised my human character didn’t have a similar reaction. I think that is what was really off about the writing.

This is what I thought – badly written. Kas could at least have defended Jory (and everyone else for that matter) and tried to heal her without directly attacking Balthazaar. Bad writing.

But her behaviour when Jory was injured says, that Kasmeer left wounded Marjory, she didn’t even stay in Rata Novus, she just used a portal to… wherever and she behaved as a coward.

And that was pretty weird that a medic appeared out of nowhere… Sometimes I think that ANet treats us as blinded people or something.

And btw ANet made the same thing like with Rytlock, they got rid of him and then he could not go to Ember Bay with us, same with Kas. Anyway they could write any scenario for her ant she met with us after 2 years (Mordremoth died in 1328, now there is 1330 when she came back) and then she disappeared so fast… She could stay, she could go with us, she could even say where she’s going. But then ANet chose to make her a coward, what is really odd.

Totally bad storytelling.

I "Suck it up, buttercup. "

ANet pls — this line of dialogue must find its way into the storyline.

And besides that, I agree: someone needs to tell her, and Braham, and Marjory (who also took off for a while) and Rytlock and even Taimi: Fate’s Razor Dragon’s Watch is supposed to be a team, not a bunch of people doing their own thing and hoping it all works out.

John Smith: “you should kill monsters, because killing monsters is awesome.”

If you play S2, specifically the episode where Rytlock goes into the Mists, you will notice Imperator Smodur say:

“If you seen Brimstone before I do, send him to the Citadel. I want to hear what he encountered through that portal.”

Source: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Plan_of_Attack

This is why Rytlock went to the Citadel and not because “ANET wants to make him go away”.

Well I understand. But well I did not expect he would be in BL so long. But well it seems it is long for us, because we are getting episodes every 2-3 months. It’s obvious that the events in Tyria are not so separated.

But the problem is we don’t know how long Rytlock is in Black Citadel- few weeks/few days/few hours?
