suggestion: "history trip" living season
I like the idea, i really do. and it also demonstrates how versatile and yet underused the fractals are as a concept.
It could work like the GW dungeons were you unlocked pages in a book and handed that in for rewards. Or maybe something like the pvp reward track as a structure.
However, the issue comes down to resources. With an expansion due, the devs are clearly flat out getting everything ready and after that no doubt it will be S3. The time and resources don’t really exist for cool ideas like this
@Randulf thanks. As for the resources, I do not command them to deliver it tomorrow. I think if they decide to go this way, it would be pretty long term task to decide what events to implement, and, more importantly, what would be the best form.
Would it be better to have player impersonate some of the person which was involved in the event, like the Caithe episodes in ls2? Or would it be better to find some good excuse how to send the player himself to join the fight? What about friendly NPCs? They might be either the characters of the event, like the charr in Ascalon fractal, or maybe some long time companions, like, say, asuras from a crewe performing some research (I would prefer the other case if that asura is not Taimi or anything like her)?
I’d personally prefer the fractal system where you take the role but keep your build/weapons. I hated the Caithe/GW Turai versions which took away the skills I’d got used to and gave me something much more unwieldy
