I remember seeing one before, back when the waypoints affected were only in Brisban Wildlands, but now that tendrils have popped up in LA and Timberline Falls, I’d like to see an updated map, if anyone has one.

Here is a map of where they all will be.

WARNING SPOILER WARNING SPOILER.

It is not my map. It was linked in the vine discussion thread in the Gates of Maguuma subforum. It was put together by people using a graphics glitch to “see” vines before the non-vined wp rendered. Vines did not appear for them in other wps, only these ones.

If you want a current map, this is not it. This is the projected final spread of the vined wp’s using a glitch, as I said, to find spots not yet active in the game. I have no idea if it is accurate or not. Do not rely on it, or even view it if you’d rather see the slow spread “live.”

I ran by Gandarren Fields and didn’t see any WPs flickering. So it should be stressed that anything beyond Timberline Falls is strictly speculation. Tried doing the whole walk up slowly and didn’t catch anything, my render quality could be too high though.

Interesting. The “possible end routes” make me wonder if there’s some vines around Thaumanova – since the three places are tied to there.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

The map is based on the tentacles that are already hidden at those way points. Because of the way level of detail rendering works in the GW2 engine, at various distances you can often see decorative elements pop up for a split second, before they are hidden. The players who made this map went to each way point, and used this trick to map the locations of any tentacles that were still hidden, but are most definitely going to spawn in the following days.

The WP next to Metrica was flickering last I heard which was days ago. It’s definitely a possibility.

EDIT: Nope, either the map is bugged for me or someone meant a different WP. Just checked and it’s stable.

No I get that, I just wasn’t able to replicate the experiment. Maybe I’m not getting the proper distance from the WP to see the vine without terrain getting in the way.

It’s not an exact science, and the props only pop up for a split second, so it is easy to miss. On average, you want to be quite a big distance away from the way point, to see it pop. Sometimes when you find the exact right spot, you can step back and forth, and see the object in question flash into existence multiple times.
