Why should i pay 20 extra euros to change a server. I started the game about two weeks ago and i have a lvl 15 norn but whitout a reason i choose a medium population server and i cant see anybody in game. Just tell me why is it so big of a deal to change a server. (sorry for my english)

Basically every MMORPG requires you to pay for server change.
You can however guest for free, and with the new MegaServer the servers matters even less, unless you plan on WvW:ing, since all maps with are now combined across servers.

You dont need to pay 20 Euros for change your server, remember there is a new Mega Server in progress, so you find a lot of ppl everyhwhere you go

If that not the case you can trade your gold for GEMS them can change your server without pay nothing

No necesitas pagar 20 euros por el cambio de servidor, recuerda que hay una nuevo sietam Megaservidor en curso, por lo que encontraras una gran cantidad de gente en en todas partes.

Si ese no es el caso puedes canjear tu oro por GEMAS y realizar el cambio del servidor sin necesidad de pagar nada

Like lordkrall wrote, you can use the “Guest” feature in the World Selection menu to play on high population servers until the Megaservers are completely implemented. The main reason for transferring is if you want to be in a competitive WvW server. For everything else, guesting is the way to go.

Ok thanks alot for the information. I didint now there was a megaserver coming. That sounds like a great idea. Is it going to be free and is there any release date for the mega servers.

It’s going to be implemented for everyone, so yes free. And it’s technically “released” already, they’re still in the process of rolling out to each map (they’re implementing it on maps one at a time, instead of all at once, to lighten the load)

Since you’re low level and leveling another norn to 15 takes just couple hours,there’s no need to pay.

Put everything you can to the bank, delete all your current characters and you’ll have free transfer again. Voila !

My advice:
Take your time. One of the best parts about this game is leveling. Don’t rush, chat with NPCs. If you have already done the first part of your personal story (up to lvl 10) you could change your new character a little when it comes to that part of creation where you have to choose between “things that your norn are made for” and you’ll get completly different story

1 year ago, I heard that if you have 0 characters on your account, you can transfer to any server for free.
I dont know if that still works. But you can try and delete all of your characters and transfer for free.

Going to quote the above for the information.

As for why there is a fee, there is a fee to prevent servers becoming destabilized due to mass migration.
It has little to nothing to do with them being greedy or other silly things you hear as soon as people dont get what they want for free.

It’s a service, you should pay for it.
But since its your first char and only lvl15, delete it and transfer to another server for free.
Empty accounts can move freely between servers.

As said above, if you delete all your characters you can transfer for free.

“The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.

AFAIK, you can delete all your characters and transfer for free

if you just bought this game this wont be a problem
