Hi Ive actually had 100 map completion shown on my “map” Screen when I press “M” for the last couple days. Ive always dismissed the issue of not getting any sort of prizes for a minor bug but now the bug is bugging me.

Why have I not recieved anything? My only conclusion is that I dont have 100percent map completion as when I look at my character select it says 98 percent. Also on my “Explorer achievement” it shows some points not explored.

BUT I have walked around the whole of Tyria 2x now. I am not willing to do this another time as it takes a long time. Am I missing something here? Ive done most of the story mode dungeons and finished my story. Although Ive noticed nothing changes from doing dungeons on my “Explorer achievements”.

(Ive already read around, and most seem to agree dungeons are not part of the 100percent map completion, only hearts, POI, Vistas and the random walk in exploring instances)

Some help would be nice if anyone knows whats going on and how I could solve this.

Ok, Ive figured it out. Ive just got my medal and prize:)

What needs to be done to get 100 percent map completion is:

100 percent world completion
-All hearts done in world
-All POIs visited in world
-All Vistas watched in world
-All Skill challenges completed in world
-All WvW POI + Vista + Skill challenges completed
-Story mode done (To access certain Pois etc)

Then off to the “Chantry of Secrets” south of Lions Arch where the order of whispers have their HQ.

DUNGEONS DO NOT NEED TO BE COMPLETED

(Not sure about the PVP area, but it doesnt take 5min to finish the pvp area so you might as well do it.)

NOTE:
Bug exists where Map Completion is stuck at 97/98 percent. Just go to the chamber either ways.
Bug exists where Chamber of Secret doesnt do anything. Wait it out until the bug is fixed or see if your map is truely finished.
Map Completion and World completion are 2 different things.

Have you done the PvP maps?

apparently WvW POI, Vistas, and Waypoints count… kinda annoying but do-able.

I have done all the WvW maps. I have not done all the PvP, ive started…maybe ill try this. If this works you get a virtual cookie of approval from me:D

Nope, Ive done the PvP now. WvW is done, world completion 100percent.

Only problem Map Completion is 98 percent. Why?

Not sure if this is it, but the different WvW Borderlands are all considered separate. I thought I had explored all of the WvW map until I zoned into a different Borderland and saw that I had nothing done there.

Have you done all the jumping puzzles? They are part of the Explorer achievement.

The achievement appears to depend on opening areas. They are the sections of the map with a white name. Most have some form of map completion entity inside them, but some of them do not.

The areas containing many of the more hidden jumping puzzles are not found by completing all the PoI, Waypoints, Skills, and Vistas. They’re ones you have to step into in order to receive the area discovery experience. I don’t believe you have to complete the puzzles to reach the explorer achievement, but just step into and “discover” the new area.

As for WvW maps, I really dislike it being part of the requirements for 100% PoI/Waypoint/Skill/Vista/Heart completion.

98-99% of it is completely a PvE part of the game, but you’re forced to go into PvP for that last little bit of completion.

If you’re on a busier server, WvW queues are incredibly long. I was in queue on Henge of Denravi one night for over 3 1/2 hours, without stepping into an overflow zone, and still did not get in. For people who have jobs or families, this is an unreasonable time expense. Currently, you can change servers for free, but if you’re on a busy server, changing could prevent you from changing back if your original server becomes Full in the meantime. Guesting after this initial server change period will not help.

If you’re on a weaker server, some of the WvW points are impossible to get. This will become much more apparent when it changes from our daily resets to a fortnight.

Someone who does not really desire to participate in WvW, but needs the completion, will be taking the limited space away from someone who actually wants to participate.
