As far as Leveling in a timely fashion, is it worth it to 100% each area your in for and foremost or should I wait until gotten higher level and just focus on hearts, ranks, and personal story? Just want someone knowledgeable on this. Were able to get around easier once you came back at a higher level or did it not make any difference?

My personal style is to level by playing through and enjoying the content. Keep in mind I don’t have a character over level 40. With a new character I tend to complete the starter maps for each race with mixing my personal story in between. Because of this there are tons of areas outside the starter maps I have yet to see but I’m looking forward to it. Doing starter maps and city map exploration is a decent way to level for early levels just from the exploration XP alone. Also part of map completion is doing the hearts.

As far as being higher level and going to the lower levels it is much easier but you are scaled down so you won’t be running around 1 shoting everything in site.

It’s easier when you’re higher level to go do lower leveled areas. Just get to 80, get geared, then go for it. With exotics and a full build you’ll tear through the lower level zones far more quickly. They don’t fully scale up to your abilities and gear at 80. Even dungeons are just scaled up to rare quality gear/stats. If I had to guess the lower zones are scaled for a player in all greens (but I don’t know that for sure).

In WvW those same traits/gears will help you stay alive and be more competitive.

Id say start getting completion in the wvwvw maps right away. So if your server is red this week go grab all the poi and views in the red zones. If your server has the central big keep take the opportunity to get the poi and view in there. Actually this might not be as big a deal as before because Anet seems to be rotating the colors now. Before the last patch some were waiting 15 weeks to gain access to some poi and views. Because the other server was just too dang good! Was just thinking it would be a shame to be stuck at 99% completion for 15 weeks.

Wvw tip is indeed a good one. I’ve been waiting 3-4 months mb more for my last 1% (3 poi’s 1 vista, since on server it was permared, and u guessed we were never red.).
Just check EB map once a week and complete the other battlegrounds anytime it’s your home.

PVE I leveld by completing a zone and then moving on to the next, this combined with my ps. When i had completed my ps i just went zone by zone.

I followed the personal story when leveling, and whatever map that took me to I would clear while I was there, then move on to the next one. Then it was easy to go back and clear most of the remaining maps once the story was done.

The lower level areas get boring after you hit higher levels (60+ I’d say).

What I like doing is finishing the area I start, and go to other regions. If you get a human, finish Queensdale, then go to Caledon Forest, Plains of Ashford, or other lvl 1-15 areas.
Afterwards, do the lvl 15-25 ones. If you think the game lacks challenge (you will be stronger than the monsters in a certain point), go to areas of your level

You get levels and complete the map at the same time.

WvW is harder though. I saw a group of players saying that PvE players were going to WvW to complete the map, and that was ruining their experience because of the overflow (I think that’s the name) – they couldn’t play because the area was full.
If you go to WvW, try to fight as well

If you’re enjoying the zone, 100% it. You get a nice XP bonus each time you do.

I was actually stuck at 99% for 8 weeks because of this. The places I needed weren’t even major places, they were just towers in the Borderlands which I eventually got because my world started to pick up.
