I’m not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I just wanted to bring up an issue I have with the game at the moment.

I’m recently level 80 and am currently wearing 80 crafted greens and I’m not yet sure just how easy or not it will be to get kitted out in Exotic armour/weapons. One way I know to get some fairly good gear is through zone completion.

However, the problem I have is that the rewards you get for completing a zone are random and not based on your profession. At the higher levels when you do get rare/exotic armour from zone completion I haven’t received any gear that I am able to use. I suppose this is not a huge deal as you can always sell it or keep it for an alt, but I think that if you go to the effort of completing a zone then you should be rewarded accordingly, rather than being given something you can’t use.

Just a small gripe that I wanted to know if others shared or had any thoughts on.

That’s interesting and fun to me. I like not knowing what to expect. If the quest doesn’t automatically reward you with a no-brainer obvious upgrade, then you’re left to your own devices in order to find an actual upgrade.

If you don’t get an item you want, why would you not try and utilize the economy to maybe trade your fellow players, or perhaps place it on the Trader to sell; and then buy what you want with your profit?

For me, the items I don’t want that are exotic go to my guild or friends, in return they give me the stuff they don’t want.

If you want to get kitted out in exotic’s there are a few ways to do it.

The first is through karma vendors. Many of the endgame events in the 75-80 and 80 orr zones. The long chain events, and the temples in particular spawn in karma vendors that sell exotic sets with stats unique to the events.

You can also get exotics via crafting. Even if you are not a 400 crafter yourself you can gather all the needed materials and then have someone craft the items for you.

There are also karma vendors in the main WvW camps on each map that sell an exotic 80 set for karma.

You can also get them from doing the explorable mode of many of the dungeons such as honor of the waves, and arah.

You can even get exotics from the large loot chests found in many of the hidden areas, and jump puzzles in the endgame zones. These chest’s re-spawn daily. You may need to kill a few veterans or a champion to get to them but they are well worth the effort.

there are so many ways to get exotic gear that it’s almost silly, once you find them all.

I understand your concern, however, it would also be nice if every drop was one we wanted, and could use, no?

I don’t expect to get high end armour from random drops all the time. What I was saying is that I think it would be nice if you get rewards you can use from completing a zone, due to the effort put in.

I understand all the arguments about utilising what you are given by trading or giving to friends (I’ve given all of the ones I have received to my friends so far). And I don’t expect to be handed everything, I was just thinking it would be nice for this particular aspect of the game. Like I said, it’s just a minor gripe
